Summary: Beautifully simple rustic property. Everything you could need, garden, small pool to keep cool, barbecue and sunshine. Definitely need a car but a fantastic base to explore northern Tuscany for a family of five.

Summary: Sergio and Silvia were excellent hosts. They were accessible and very accommodating. The house is a rustic farmhouse that has has been renovated to include modern comforts such as a good shower, microwave, etc. There are multiple areas outside that have tables where you can have a drink or a bite to eat. Overall, a very nice experience.

Summary: We stayed at Il Melograno for 2 wonderful weeks in September with our 2 sons (ages 8 and 10)! We highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet place to rest, cook gourmet meals, swim and enjoy nature as well as a place that is close enough to take short trips to magnificent places like Lucca, Florence, Pisa and San Gimignano. You get the best of both worlds. Spotless and very well equipped. Gardens surrounding the villa are lovely with olive trees, lemon trees and lots of lovely herbs to cook with Sergio and Silvia (the owners) are extremely hospitable, helpful, and friendly. They provided ideas for excursions as well as local know-how (where is the best food store and so forth). They are fantastic hosts and made our stay extremely enjoyable, well beyond our expectations. The beds were very comfortable and each person had their own set of towels (bath and pool). The bathroom was very nice with all (and then some) the comforts of home including hair dryers and very good lighting. Wonderful tranquil spot - highly recommended.

Summary: A bit hard to find in the stormy evening but as soon as we arrived, welcomed by our guests, we discovered a wonderful place. A very nicely renovated cottage with a large room at the first floor and two nice bedrooms with the bathroom at the second floor, all in a typical Tuscany style. And from the day after, under a beautiful sun, we spent a fantastic week in Lucca, Pistoa, Firenza and so on.

Summary: The property location is excellent...so rural...yet so close to Lucca and Pescia (and to great restaurants!). Breakfast on the verandah was one of the highlights watching the sun rise over the hills in front. In the evenings the kids would run around catching fireflies. The house is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. At the end of the stay, it felt like a real home. We had outstanding service from Sergio, who lives 200 metres away, and was able to give great advice on the local area: restaurants, trips to Pisa, Florence and the beaches, shopping and the many festivals in Lucca and Torre di Lago. His wife, Silvia,has prepared for us some typical Tuscan dishes, offered us the honey of her bees and fresh eggs.She also entertained children in the delightful vegetable garden nearby with fun farming lessons. They were a lovely couple. Overall a wonderful, family holiday.

Summary: I Girasoli was definitely more than we expected and more: the photos do not do justice to the whole property. Absolutely fabulous location. The children enjoyed roaming around, catching tadpoles in the stream and chasing fireflies. Excellent restaurants nearby. Lovely barbecues at home with local fresh produce. We will return!! A superb summer holiday. Thank you to Silvia for all his expert advice on what to see and where to eat. We loved having breakfast on the terrace every morning, watching the sun appear from over the hills. Special thanks to Sergio for keeping the property clean and his friendly courtesy, for the fresh vegetables, the wine, for eggs and the honey, all products of the organic farm. Australian guests

Summary: We hope to return some day. The cottage was very clean, fully equipped, and charmingly decorated. Sylvia and Sergio were always available, but never intrusive. They showed us where the supermarket was, the train station (Firenze) and the road to Lucca. Very highly recommended. We wish them well.

Summary: We stayed here for 7 nights with four people. The unit we rented was as shown in the photos. Clean, comfortable and had everything you needed and well stocked. Great place to unwind and relax but close to major highways and cities. Lucca is a great place to shop and site see. You can do lots of day trips and our host gave us good tips on places to see and go

Summary: We stayed at Il Melograno for three and a half weeks and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The owners, Sergio and Silvia, did everything to make our stay a good one, and succeeded! Normally when you go on a holiday you look forward to going home after a while as things are more comfortable there. At Il Melograno, this was not the case. Both ourselves and our children felt at home from the beginning and could have stayed forever it felt like! The house was fully equipped and safe for children, which is important to us as we have a 2 and a 4 year old. The surroundings were incredible and peaceful: lovely forests where one can go for walks, and the neighbouring villages were not far away. We recommend this holiday home for anyone and hope to go back ourselves one day!
