The Space:
The Backyard/ Pool
The backyard is a true tropical oasis complete with a spacious pool (heated in the winter and chilled in the summer) with in pool-loungers, an extra large dining table, a chef's grill, and an outdoor living room with three sofas and a 75” outdoor TV.
The Dining Room
The dining room has a large custom built dining table that can seat 10 people, a bar cart, and original sliding doors that can be closed for privacy from the living room. The space was designed to be multi-functional and is perfect for activities ranging from formal banquets to remote working. The focal point of the room is a massive tryptic of New Orleans inspired deities that towers over the dining table.
The Living Room
The living room has an extra large sectional from West Elm, a 75” HDTV, and has original sliding doors that can be closed for privacy from the dining room. The room is full of artwork and is anchored by a 12’ tall mural of a bird of paradise flower.
The Kitchen
The kitchen has a large refrigerator with filtered water and ice making, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, and toaster. A coffee bar with local coffee and sugar is provided along with kitchen basics, such as salt, pepper, and olive oil. There are also a variety of local cookbooks and cocktail guides.
The Bedrooms
All five bedrooms feature memory foam mattresses, crisp hotel-quality percale sheets, full length mirrors, and blackout curtains. Each bedroom has plenty of hooks and hangers for your clothes and towels and three of the bedrooms feature beds locally made from Louisiana cypress trees.
The Bathrooms + Laundry
The bathrooms feature Malin + Goetz amenities and Drybar blow dryers. There are multiple ironing boards and irons and a brand new Samsung Washer and Dryer.
The Neighborhood:
The house is just steps to a great coffee shop and a few restaurants: Coffee Science (coffee), Ruby Slipper (brunch), and Marjie's (dinner). Whole Foods is a 3 minute drive and Ideal Supermarket is just a block away.
Getting Around:
The house is located in Mid-City, a centrally located neighborhood just minutes from the French Quarter, Garden District, Marigny, and Bywater. An Uber to the French Quarter takes about 5 minutes and the Streetcar to the French Quarter takes about 12 minutes.
Other Things to Note:
Note that this house is located on a busy street; however, it's quiet inside and in the backyard (pool area).
As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (10pm-8am) are strictly enforced.
For the security of our guests, we have external recording devices (security cameras) located by the front door and back doors of the house; the pool is within the coverage area of the device. All cameras are exterior only.
Per City of New Orleans regulations, this property is equipped with a noise monitoring device. It does NOT record actual sounds or conversations, it simply monitors the noise level (measured in decibels). This device also monitors occupancy and cigarette smoke.
Monday and Thursday morning pool cleaning and landscape maintenance: On Monday and Thursday mornings (between 8am-11am) Jose comes to check the chemicals and clean the pool and Lauren comes (every other Thursday) to do landscape maintenance.
Use of the swimming pool is at your own risk.

Summary: This house was so beautiful and exactly what we were hoping for. The owners had a very quick response time. Home is close to everything especially some amazing good spots. Pool was heated and clean, house was spacious, very clean, and easy check in process. Oh and the art all over the house makes for some beautiful photo opportunities BOOK IT! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Summary: This was my first time using VRBO and if this is a representation of what the properties are like im sold! The property was great. Spacious enough for all guests. Kitchen stocked with everything you need. The store on the corner sells food as well as beer/ alcohol. We got food from there almost every day. The location was close to the French Quarters. The plan was to take the trolley which is only a quick walk and a few stops away. However we ended up taking Uber which was only a few dollars. Literally almost nothing to complain about other than VERY MINOR items (1 or 2) which were probably tightened up after our departure. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting.

Summary: Our group of ten enjoyed our stay at the Tropical Oasis. We loved that it was close to the tram line and that there were several grocery stores, convenience stores, and restaurants close by. The neighborhood is in transition, so we tended to uber at night but did not have any problems. The house was well stocked and we appreciated the small touches from the staff (soap in all bathrooms and kitchen, coffee filters, trash bags and toilet paper were all stocked.) The space worked, and you could see the attention put into it, but it was a bit tight for our group of ten. While everyone had a seat at the dining room table and everyone could sit in the family room, there was not any extra space (a couch to lay down, etc.) when all of us were there. The bedroom with futon also had the backdoor, so when that guest was sleeping, we had to limit our treks to the backyard. Similarly, one of the queen bed rooms had the laundry in the room. Neither was a huge deal, but it made the space seem a bit less usable as we had to juggle using around sleep schedules. The backyard and pool were great. We loved swimming and some of our group enjoyed watching a movie while in the pool. We also used the grill several times and it worked great. There is very limited shade in the backyard, esp. during the day, which got a bit tricky for us with small kids, but would be great for anyone that is a sun worshiper. We'd definitely recommend this space for families and those wanting to explore NOLA.

Summary: Ill be honest when i first arrived i wondered if i was at the right place lol, it looks like a diamond in the rough and it truly was. We did feel safe there, no one bothered us, the house is beautiful inside and out. It had everything we needed and more. The gas station/market across the street worked out perfect for us to pick up food/snacks. The Canal St trolley is right up the street, which was great for getting around. I would definitely recommend this place!

Summary: The house was exactly what is shown in the listing. It has everything you need, every detail was taken care of. The art work throughout the house of local artists was amazing! Got the New Orleans vibe as soon as we walked in. The house is located a few blocks away from the trolley that will take you to the French quarter. The pool was a perfect temperature and just the right size for cooling off. Tv in backyard made for fun night without leaving the house. There are many stores within walking distance for supplies. The mart across the street was very busy but it was a holiday weekend July 4th. Felt safe despite the house being on the edge of a commercial area. The host gave us a very detailed list of things to do in all areas in the city with great recommendations for activities and food. So helpful! The host responded surprisingly quickly when asked a question and was super attentive. Overall great family house with many beds and comforts of home. Will definitely stay again!

Summary: This stay is absolutely ideal for adult groups and bachelorette/bachelor parties. The property is so divine and relaxing! The pool is the highlight but the decor and art in the place is amazing too! Property manager was incredibly responsive and attentive. Their maintenance cleaning is so appreciative too and transparency of when the schedule it is great! Highly recommend this stay- very convenient location. Would definitely come back!
