Trenython Manor is an architectural treasure, in 1872 an Italian architect commissioned by General Garibaldi, who is often called the father of the modern Italy, designed the building. Other notable objects that can still be seen today include General Wolf’s Headboard, Lord Nelson’s Sea Chest, the dining room walls with carved oak panels and some Italian marbles sent over by Garibaldi which are now in the restaurant. Positive: The main house interior is very grand with a spectacular terrace out the back The swimming pool was a lovely temperature. We stayed in a 1 bed lodge. It was immaculate, with everything we needed. Warm, hot water for bath and shower. Very comfortable home from home. No complaints about our accommodation at all.

Negative: The food wasn't terrible. But nothing to get excited about. My burger was nice, but it wants to be at £21. My Wife enjoyed her risotto. Breakfast was fine, I certainly didn't go hungry but again at £17 it didn't really serve up anything better than a decent Premier Inn. Service was fine, the Turkish guy (sorry didn't get his name) was very friendly especially with my 2 young girls who can be a handful. He also offered to take our picture, so we have a photo that isn't our usual family selfy.

Summary: Grand house, comfy lodge, glad we stayed

Positive: The patio rooms were excellent. Very large and comfortable with access to woodlands. The pool and jacuzzi were very good. The hotel building itself was stunning. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The evening restaurant food was excellent.

Negative: We had breakfast one morning.The English breakfast was mean, one egg, one rasher and one sausage and one hash brown. That should be enough for most people but the choice was £17.50 for a hot breakfast and £12.50 for a continental. My wife had scrambled egg on toast and that was also priced at £17.50. For a small fried breakfast and egg on toast it was £35. We only eat there once. It was nice but we weren't surprised to see the restaurant was empty most breakfast times. That's our only gripe. Everything else was perfect.
