Summary: Nette kleine abgeschlossene Unterkunft mit freundlichen Vermietern. Für unseren Aufenthalt mit Hund sehr angenehm, da ein Freilaufbereich in direkter Nähe auf dem Weg zum Strand lag. Bis 10.00 und nach 19.00 durften Hunde mit an den Strand.

Summary: We werden hartelijk ontvangen door Piet en Ina. Het huisje was comfortabel en netjes. De zonsopkomst was spectaculair en bij het huisje is ook een grasveld als terras dat grenst aan de bollenvelden. In het voorjaar moet het hier nog veel mooier zijn. Je loopt zo de duinen in en kunt één van de wandelroutes volgen.

Summary: De Cottage is a lovely, well furnished accommodation and ideally situated for travelling around Noord-Holland. It is in a very quiet and secure location with an excellent view from the garden across bulb fields. Piet and Ina made us most welcome. There are plenty of shops in the area, with an Albert Heijn supermarket being within walking distance. We found Egmond aan Zee to be one of the nicest of Dutch coastal villages, with the restaurants, bars and beach an easy cycle ride (perhaps 20 minutes to walk) from De Cottage. Tip if you go to Alkmaar centre (perhaps for the touristic cheese market on Friday), leave the crowds behind by taking a stroll round the maze of tiny streets across the canal from the Grote Markt, which are packed with history and interest.
