Positive: Good location, good meals, polite & efficient staff. Good greeting & seamless check-in by Reception who resolved a lighting issue in room rapidly. Well equipped host tray with everything you could need.

Negative: Room somewhat dated & grubby, could do with a substantial refresh. Unforgiving & brutal door closing mechanism on heavy room door that badly needs adjusting to prevent injury (noted by Reception). Shower over bath & pathetic Mira shower arrangement required acrobatic skills for an mediocre shower to avoid crashing out onto tiled floor. Not a good offering for 21st Century. The perpetual & unnecessary Piped music spoiled the otherwise comfortable & cosy atmosphere of the Dining & Lounge area.

Positive: Staff lovely. Room good. Little extras i.e. sweets and biscuits appreciated.

Negative: Lack of sleep due to young children running up and down corridors, shouting and banging doors until early hours. Unreliable lift due to users not closing doors properly. My room was on the top floor and I have arthritis in one hip and an artificial hip on the other side so climbing 40 plus stairs was hard work.

Positive: From check in to breakfast the following day we were very well taken care of by the excellent staff. Food was amazing and the service was very prompt. Great night away, highly recommended.
