Positive: For fans of the Hannah Kent novel Burial Rites and those interested in the famous Icelandic story of Agnes Magnúsdóttir this is a special place to stay -with the historical Tjorn church and yard right next door. And the beautifully developed historical site at Þrístapar with dramatic short trail and audio tour is only a short drive away. Unlike many places you stay in Iceland you’ll probably get to meet the owner, in this case the lovely Olga who is renovating this old farmhouse.

Positive: We LOVED everything. The host, the house, the coziness, the position in front of the ocean, we could see an amazing show of northern nights. Olga, the host, is incredibly kind and nice; we had a last minute change of plans because of the weather and our northern lights chase and despite of the very short notice of our request she was so flexible and accommodating. The house is amazingly decorated, you really feel like home and honestly if we wouldn’t have had so less time during our trip, we would have loved to relax there some more days. Absolutely recommended!! 🩷

Positive: Comfortable large room. Large dining kitchen with sea views if weather the were better. Comfortable lounge too. Much better than the place that I stayed in opposite Hvitserkur last year.

Negative: Nothing. It is very remote so don't expect amenities nearby.

Positive: The guest house is situated in an idyllic remote cliff with beautiful sunset views. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The house was quiet even if full of guests. The kitchen is well equipped and basics for preparing food are provided. Olga, the host, was very nice and helpful and the other guests very respectful. Everything was nicely decorated and well taken care of. The trip up to the house was just amazing.

Negative: The road to get there was awful, not because of it being gravel, but because it had so much dust the car was completely covered in mud and dust upon arrival. Not the properties fault at all, just so guests know. Luckily in the nearest village the local gas station offers free high pressure water hoses to easily clean up the car. :)

Positive: Lovely house in a great spot with gorgeous views. Large kitchen and livingroom to share with other friendly guests. Sweet decor and really comfortable beds. Remote and unique location. Close to fantastic seal watching and Hvítserkur cliff. The host was very friendly and helpful. Recommend for everyone wanting a unique experience.

Positive: All you need in the kitchen, there was someone to meet us there. Rooms are cozy and shared spaces were spacious and well equipped.
