Summary: Lovely place. Only saw staff member at breakfast - no reception. Superb building. Either my TV didn't work or I couldn't work it. Could do with better signage outside - no hotel name visible

Summary: Lovely. Nice little touches - decent coffee in the room, great shower and very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast too.

Summary: Couldn’t fault any thing, allowed to check in early and the room was great. Breakfast was superb and would definitely stay there again highly recommended

Summary: Fabulous room and excellent breakfast. We can’t recommend this hotel enough. It is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Such a quirky old building has been updated to a very high standard whilst still retaining the charm of the original beams and uneven floors. The lit stove in the reception gave a warm welcome each time we entered. The staff were really lovely, friendly and helpful. A very relaxed stay, I hope we will be able to visit again.

Summary: The Three Cocks Hotel is a truly special place — an independent, family-run gem where you can feel the passion and care in everything they do. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the stunning interiors to the welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The downstairs area is beautifully designed — perfect for unwinding by the fire with a drink after a day exploring. The receptionist was excellent: warm, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was outstanding, with quality ingredients and generous portions. The location couldn’t be better — close to both Brecon and Hay-on-Wye, making it ideal for exploring the area. Our room was immaculate, with a very comfortable bed and a lovely, well-designed bathroom. It’s clear that every aspect of this hotel has been created with care and attention to detail. A wonderful stay from start to finish — I can’t recommend The Three Cocks Hotel highly enough.

Summary: Good points…Loved the staff and had excellent communication throughout the stay. The well fitted bathroom was spotless and the shower was great. You have to pre-order breakfast the night before but it is hot and well cooked. The lady serving breakfast was excellent. Nice areas to sit downstairs and chat. The age of the building means it is quirky and interesting. It has been renovated very sympathetically. Bad points…The bedroom was very small and the two single beds were placed end to end so felt like a school trip. No wardrobe in the room just some pegs over a shelf and I struggled to use the mirror which was propped up on the desk. No room at all to put our cases. There are no staff in the hotel if you arrive after they leave in the early evening so you have to self check-in. Instructions to locate your key and room are comprehensive but could put people off.

Summary: Problem with toilet flush, maybe not a major concern for most people but a bit of a problem for me following cancer surgery. However they gave us free breakfast to make amends so guess these things happen
