The Cottage: Situated in Cashel on the shores of the Bertrachtboy bay, this well appointed modern bungalow has wonderful views of the surrounding area. Although there is no sandy beach the sea shore nearby is great for exploring rock pools and watching the abundant birdlife. A great place for walking or for a quiet relaxed holiday the area has changed little in the last number of years and retains the charm that rural Ireland was once famous for. You need a car to get to the shops in Roundstone or Clifden but the nearby Zetland and Cashel House Hotels (3.5m) provide a venue for an evening drink or meal. The Cashel house hotel has beautiful gardens which you can take a stroll around coupled with a nice lunch at any time of year. The Zetland hotel has the Gowla fishery which would make a fine afternoon or evenings trout fishing.The nearest sandy beaches are the famous dogs bay in Roundstone which is seven miles away where you will also find some interesting shops, restaurants and pubs including O’Dowds with its seafood chowder that is now world famous. The accommodation would suit two families which makes renting this property very affordable.

Summary: The inside needs a lot of renovations there is mould growing on the walls in the downstairs main bedroom and also on the tiles the grout is a full of mould black mould. The shower in the ensuite bathroom is held together by duct tape and the shower in the main bathroom downstairs didn’t work. Lots of the radiators have been corroded and have metal flakes coming off them. Everything just needs updating.

Summary: We had an amazing time at the Hill view house. The location is perfect, the house is much nicer than the pictures make it seem, very large and spacious. The caretaker is very nice and helpful. Just a couple of remarks: a few things were broken for our stay: like the baby gate, the hood above the stove didn't work and there was a problem with the hot water (that was fixed while we were there). Apart from those little maintenance issues our stay was great. Would definitely recommend for a large family/group.

Summary: Beautiful house nice and big for big family’s. Views from the house are beautiful. Only down side is having to pay for electric and oil at the end of the week. But we all had a lovely time.

Summary: Stayed with my family at this holiday house and couldn't ask for better. Great view, great communication and John the caretaker did an amazing job, he looked after us and he made sure everything is ok. The roads are a bit tight but as soon you drive slow it s allright. 100% we will book it again for our next holiday. The price was way lower than expected!! Amazing. Dan and Malinda

Summary: Enjoyed our stay, lovely spot. Loads to do nearby, climbed hills, swam and surfed, drank Guinness in brilliant pubs. Highly recommended. Great to find dog friendly quality accomodation too.

Summary: We were all very happy at Hillview and found it to be a lot better than we’d expected - Good expectation management you might say! Unusually I actually suggest you might be well served in taking some new photos of the house which show how spacious it is, how many people can fit around the kitchen table etc, as we felt we needed to bring with us by car from the UK extra tables and chairs (not necessary!) However it would be helpful if there were a larger freezer as catering for a large family group day by day on holiday can be quite a task - We actually drove over with our own freezer! That was necessary. The caretaker John King could not have been more kind and helpful.
