Welcome to one of the most unique locations in Gettysburg.. Stay on the Gettysburg Battlefield, while you visit this historic town. Surrounded by nature, you will enjoy privacy in this secluded retreat that is nestled on the western slope of Wolf Hill, on the edge of town. Wolf Hill is not as well known as the other major battle areas of the Gettysburg Battlefield, but it did play a strategic part in the overall battle as Confederate and Union armies engaged in skirmish battles all around this area. The home poses a picturesque view overlooking Gettysburg. Views are best from late fall to spring when there are no leaves on the trees. but you can still catch glimpses of town and surrounding battlefield during the other months of the year. Wildlife is abundant. You are likely to see deer and turkey during your stay.
The home has 2 bedrooms with Queen beds, 1.5 baths, full kitchen, laundry, air conditioning, and heat. Both bedrooms, full bath, and laundry are on second floor. We are sticklers for cleanliness. All cleaning is done personally by us. All of our beds and pillows have protective covers, as well as the mattresses, and our bedding is completely changed after each guest (including comforters). Summary: A few weeks ago we stayed at The Wolf Den for a long weekend while visiting Gettysburg. The home was fairly new, very clean and comfortable. It had all the comforts of home with plenty of towels and toiletries. Before our trip I read a review that criticized the owners of not being absolutely clear where their home was located and how to get there. Among other things. I can assure you that the owners are very specific as to the location and directions including a driving video up the road to their home. Just read the information about the home. It’s very clear. It is very close off of highway 15 up a mountain road in a peaceful setting with great views. You will see deer and fawns near the road especially in the early morning hours. The home currently does not have blinds or shades on the windows however it wasn’t an issue for us considering we are early risers and no neighbors around to be concerned with. The home is only about 1.7 miles from the center of town. My only suggestion to a renter is the first day of arrival to make sure you arrive when it is light out this way you will be more comfortable with the drive up to the home and you will not be concerned at night when returning from town. I would definitely recommend this home. The owners seem very kind and caring and would take care of any concerns. However we didn’t have any.

Summary: We were extremely pleased with our home away from home. It is very remote, so complete privacy. You can tell the owners have put in a lot of work to get the home remodeled and ready for guests. It was very clean. There was a slight odor when you first walk in, like a litter box, but the whole home was so clean, there was no sign of pets. When they install the wraparound deck, it will be even more of a gem. The hosts were extremely timely in their communications, and very helpful. You are pretty much on a battlefield where the confederates held, and where there were a few skirmishes. You are also so close to the town and the battlefield, yet it feels very secluded. You cant see any neighbors or homes. We will return! Highly recommend!

Summary: Our hosts were amazing. They communicated with us and made it easy to find this hide away hilltop retreat. The house had everything we needed. It was spotless. The covered porch was great to enjoy the quiet of the location. We will be back hopefully in the fall to enjoy the views with some leaves down a bit. .

Summary: We had a great 3 days on Wolf Hill. The place is a gem in the woods. Perfect clean and super cute. The stone fireplace is spectacular. If you are going to Gettysburg for the history this place is right in the thick of it. Do not hesitate to book you will be happy you did. We will be back in the fall.
