Positive: Central and convenient, the gates to the property being from the High Street of Shaftesbury. Still it is peaceful, as the property is at the rear. Fabulous terrace and view, also with a garden. Tastefully furnished, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Friendly and helpful hosts who one can contact directly. We found it more convenient to park in a nearby car park, although it is possible to park a small car but could be difficult during busy times of the day from the High Street.

Negative: Probably more convenient for most people to have twin beds in the second bedroom. It has a standard size double.

Summary: We had an enjoyable stay, close to amenities and historic sites.

Positive: Immaculately furnished and decorated, spacious, airy single storey house, with a stunning view. The kitchen was by far the best equipped that I have ever seen - we cooked and I can’t think of anything that wasn’t there. Gorgeous outdoor space, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom. The position on the high street is fantastic, but because it is set back from the street at the end of a yard, it is peaceful, extremely quiet and really private. Car park around the corner was literally a minute’s walk, cheap and very easy to find space in. The view is, obviously, beautiful, both from the living/dining area and the terrace, where we listened to lots of birds, including owls in the evening. We would very happily stay again.

Negative: Absolutely nothing.

Summary: Fabulous house in great location with utterly stunning scenery.

Positive: The property itself was in a fantastic location — clean, tidy, and with a lovely view. We stayed there with our daughter and her fiancé as a convenient base while attending a nearby wedding. Due to the windy and showery weather, we didn’t get a chance to use the outdoor deck at all, nor did we have much downtime at the property. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the host’s attitude. Despite leaving the apartment in immaculate condition, we were accused of damaging a new parasol — something we hadn’t even used. When we politely clarified this, the host continued to send accusatory and rude messages, ultimately demanding payment. I had to involve Booking.com to resolve the situation and explain that we hadn’t used the deck due to the poor weather. As a host myself, I believe it's essential to treat guests with respect and would never accuse them of causing damage without clear and credible evidence. I would recommend that future guests take photographs of items upon arrival to avoid similar misunderstandings.

Negative: The hosts attitude. Only 1 and a bit loo roll for four adults over a weekend. Used butter in fridge. Cupboard full of open condiments.
