Positive: We have spent wonderful days in 'The View Villa' in Maries on Zakynthos! After a long journey we enjoyed a very friendly welcome from Maria. It was especially nice that she had already put together a breakfast basket for us for the next morning. Even later, she was always available to help and advise us. The perfectly equipped and tastefully decorated house and the large pool were in very good condition and we are sure that future guests will also respect and maintain this. From the terrace we could enjoy a wide view of the countryside and the sea, including wonderful sunsets. The village of Maries is located away from the tourist hustle and bustle. It is lies high above the cliffs of the island and there are a few tarmac roads down to the sea to spectacular and secluded coves and fjords. Maria gave us a very warm farewell and we will always have best memories of our stay.

Positive: Really lovely villa in Mariai. Exceptional modern pool (installed in 2023) with amazing views over the island to the sea. A sunset swim is a must! The beds and living space are excellent. Air conditioning outstanding. Tassimo coffee maker (take pods if you plan to use it as there are none available locally). Huge parking area although it's an interesting driveway!

Negative: Mariai is nothing special and the one restaurant should be skipped as should the mini-market. Luckily drive 5 minutes in either direction to the neighbour villages and there are several very good restaurants and better shops. Nearest supermarket is 45 mins drive so stock up on the way. Don't trust your sat nav to find the villa: ask the host for directions.

Positive: the owner prepared heartwarming things to eat and to play for kids. They are so kind to answer all our questions and they know a lot of things that only locals probably can give as a tip. And the view from the villa was breathtaking!!!

Positive: If you wanted a quiet, relaxing holiday away from the main tourist spots this Villa is absolutely perfect. It is situated in a little village with several lovely restaurants in easy reach. It is a great location to visit some beautiful beaches on the north west and east side of the island. You will need a car. The villa is spotlessly clean with everything we needed. The pool area is wonderful and has fantastic views of the sea. It has everything you need right down to pool inflatables. It was easy to spend a day here relaxing and enjoying the peace. Maria is the kindest, most helpful host we have ever encountered. She welcomed us at the villa with a gift of food and drinks which we were very grateful for having arrived late in the evening. She sent recommendations of restaurants, beaches and activities to do and was always a message away if we needed help. She really did go above and beyond and help made our holiday really special, right down to informing the restaurant that we were eating at that it was my son's 18th and paying for our drinks there to help us celebrate. A truly wonderful person. We are so glad that picked View Villa to stay in. We have special memories of our holiday and and hope to be back one day.

Positive: In one word, Everything! In many words, from booking the villa to getting the pre checkin info and having our questions answered by our host Maria. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay in the View Villa. The location is quiet, it's set in a quite village away from the tourist crowds, but well located to easily drive to both the West and East coasts of Zakynthos and some great spots. The Villa is new has all the facilities you need for a self contained break. The pool is beautiful, spotless clean and the views each sunset are spectacular and peaceful. Early in the morning you're treated to an aerial display by swallows, and in the moonlight you can see bat's doing their nocturnal turns. The Village 'Maries' has two tavernas and a mini market for basic provisions with local products (and cold Mythos:) We ate and drank on three occasions at the 'Old Olive Tree' which we also highly recommend. Vassiliki the owner is a true example of another genuine welcoming and kind person, her food was delicious, fresh and very reasonably priced. Maria the owner of the View Villa is by far and a way the most welcoming and overly kind host that we have ever had the pleasure of staying with! She met us at check-in gave us a full briefing and provided some recommendations for trips and tavernas and was on hand locally but not intrusive but checked whether we were ok via WhatsApp to inform us of cleaning days and the pool cleans etc. Thank you Maria and Spiros you made a long awaited and needed holiday and break for us so so relaxing and enjoyable. We would love to come back again next year :)

Negative: Having to leave the villa to return to the UK, a soul destroying job to pay taxes to muppets.

Positive: Everything was perfect. The owners are really kind and helpful. The place is beautiful, calm and clean. The view is amazing. One of our best vacations. I cannot imagine a better solution for Summer Holidays. I have to highlight the gifts we received from the owners. We plan to explore other Greek islands, but it is sure that we will come back to Zakynthos to The View Villa in the near future.

Negative: I wish our vacation would have been longer. Everything was perfect.

Positive: Maria and her sister are the nicest and funniest hosts. The villa is very clean, the view is breathtaking. A small gift basket and the fresh limes from your very own lime tree make you feel welcome. The villa is located in a small quiet village. A very good alternative to the busy tourist hotspots.
