Positive: Lovely breakfast, proper butchers bacon and sausage. Lovely comfortable room slept well. Finding the sister hotel to have dinner a challenge in the dark!

Negative: One or two things needed attention. Cover for the electric wires missing on bathroom ceiling. Lead for kettle too short for nearest socket - a bit dangerous. Too far to see mirror to dry hair for the same reason.

Summary: Good stay with lovely staff.

Positive: The property has been tastefully renovated and the room was nicely presented and very clean. Staff were very pleasant.

Negative: When I visited it was a very warm day/night and the windows of the bedroom required to be open all night. There was some sort of generator/machine which came on every 10mins all night which disturbed my sleep. It came on for 5mins and off for 5mins. A fan in the room may have been beneficial. The shower room had no where to place my toiletries/bag. A shelf would have been useful. I felt the breakfast was an inconvenience for the staff. You have to place order the night before however when I returned to property there was nobody around. In the morning I heard knocking on the door asking if I wanted cooked or continental breakfast. I asked if it was possible to get cereal plus bacon and poached egg with brown/granary toast. I was told this was fine. I also asked for decaff tea which they didn't have but this wasn't a problem as I had my own tea bags. When I sat down for breakfast there were only 3 of us having breakfast. When the waitress appeared I asked if I could have mushrooms added to my order but was told I was too late. My breakfast was presented all at once with bacon and egg on white toast with bowl of cereal on same plate. By the time I had eaten the granola the hot food was cold. No additional toast/marmalade was provided. Breakfast is served 9am - 10am. I was required to pay on arrival so I saw nobody when I left. I always rate my accomodation on a good night's sleep and nice breakfast unfortunately I experienced neither. They do not offer a single person reduction which meant I paid for 2 breakfasts (not a problem but i would have expected better!)

Positive: Location Staff Food Nice well appointed room. Cost

Negative: Our room had a security light shining in which went off and on all night. A constant hum of a generator or similar near the room as well- room no 2 Only two choices on breakfast menu although food excellent.

Summary: Apart from the room disturbances this hotel has hit a lot to offer
