Summary: The facility was amazing and the service was great. However the Speak Easy wasn’t open during our time there. The pool bar only was open on Sunday, these were two of the amenities that we were looking forward to.

Summary: We stayed at the Trail Hotel recently and it was fantastic. We will definitely be back. The pool was definitely a highlight. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We apparently lost power in the middle of the night on the last night but did not notice. They provided complimentary breakfast due to the inconvenience. Whether you want to experience the great bourbon trail or just relax all day at the hotel, this is a must stay.

Summary: Upgraded old-style motel, with average size rooms and exterior doors. Inconsistent service in the restaurant and at the bar. Enjoyed the pool during the July heatwave!

Summary: Great motel. Nice seating outside the room. Great bar. Newly remodeled and very tastefully done. Staff was super helpful and friendly.

Summary: I’m not a fan of “motel” style hotels. I’m still not, but it’s the best option in Bardstown. Nice pool, beautiful lobby, and the food in the restaurant needed more seasoning. The cleaning staff were very friendly and this was refreshing.

Summary: The hotel is still getting up to speed with their amenities given that they are still new. Rooms are nice and comfortable (A/c runs super loud all day and night long so be prepared for that). Restaurant service was not good - food took forever and came out at all different times. While they put a lot of $$ into the design, the hotel is really a motel that sits in the side of a highway. Their “patio view” which is an upgrade is a cement slab with a view of the highway and too hot to sit on in the warm weather as it faces sunset.

Summary: The Trail has a lot of potential, and should grow into a wonderful space. We had one hiccup at checkin, and were told the incorrect room number, but that was fixed quickly. The lobby/lounge/bar/restaurant area is lovely, well appointed, but unfortunately they’re trying some sort of “signature smell” air freshener that made it unpleasant to stay in the lounge area. The rooms were nice, with fully renovated and spacious bathrooms. Really nice linens, but no place to hang them when not in use. No toilet lid on toilet, no exhaust fan in bathroom. The HVAC in the rooms is really, really loud. The pool area was VERY nice, lots of upgrades and a giant hottub. The outdoor patio areas were also nice. Every single thing other than your room and the pool is an extra charge. No free coffee in the morning. Want to check out the speakeasy? $15. The golf simulator, extra charge. I think over time as this “resort” evolves their approach will as well. Great potential.
