Positive: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Hutch! The property is nestled on the family farm and is tucked away under beautiful pecan and maple trees. The home has been in the Hutchins Family for eight generations and is like walking into Grandma and Grandpa’s home! Throughout the house are tidbits of family history which elicited laughter, pause, and an appreciation for how difficult life was for settlers. Yet, they persevered! Accommodations were the excellent; favorite features—the mattresses led to a good night’s sleep, the wonderful kitchen and hearth, and the swing in the front porch. Thank you!!

Positive: This historic Kentucky home was restored beautifully and history across eight generations preserved. Warm and accommodating for our group of seven. We enjoyed the Bourbon Trail and the Kentucky Derby and this family home for a perfect long weekend!

Negative: no bathroom on the top floor, however, it had two on the main level of the house.

Positive: Beautiful property on a quiet country lane just outside Bardstown. The house is a historic property originally built in the 1780s and housed multi-generations of the same family. The place is amazing with exposed hand hewed timbers, wood floors and antiques throughout. While maintaining the historic ambiance, the kitchen and bathrooms are modern and up to date. There are three bedrooms, each uniquely decorated, with very comfortable beds. The property is well located in Bardstown which is in the heart of Kentucky bourbon and horse country. A highlight is the outdoor firepit under a covered pavilion which is perfect for relaxing with a drink after a day of exploring. We also met one of the owners who stopped by to see how we were doing and told us about his family's fascinating history in the area. I found The Hutch to be a cost effective option to a traditional hotel especially if their are multiple people in your party. I highly recommend The Hutch as a place to have a relaxing and comfortable stay!

Negative: Nothing really. One thing to note in case it makes a difference to some; two of the three bedrooms are upstairs but both bathrooms (each equipped with full showers) are on the ground floor. It wasn't a big deal for us.

Positive: So charming. Wonderful family history. So well restored. Great location for the bourbon trail. Plenty of room to spread out and very quiet.

Negative: No bathroom for upstairs bedrooms.

Summary: We loved this wonderful historic 8 generational home! It’s a must stay place.

Positive: Everything! Wonderful and responsive hosts. A wonderful historic log cabin home with modern amenities. On a quiet country lane. Very generously equipped home. Outdoor blankets, gas fireplace, Coffee, snacks, PB, microwave popcorn, Keurig refills, even ice cream in the freezer! Beautiful new bathrooms.

Negative: There was nothing.
