Positive: Location in main building All seemed fine but second day shortage of breakfast tea and no yoghurts

Negative: Lighting in the room quite dark Tea and coffee room supplies not topped up and none visible in reception area

Positive: Location excellent. Parking super easy. Breakfast was enough but could have been slightly better

Negative: Have experienced the evening meals in the past. Wish there was still a possibility of their return.

Summary: Enjoyable. Staff all helpful and polite. Just a shame the evening meal was not available

Positive: The room was fairly clean and comfortable.

Negative: There were real problems checking in ... no receptionist, I was given a passkey number which didn't work so had to phone someone in Worthing who eventually gave me a new one. Not ideal after a long journey. No staff on duty; nowhere to get a tea or coffee at all in the afternoon or evening. No loo brushes in ensuite rooms. Bedside lamp overheated to the point where it was too hot to touch. Breakfast ok, nothing exciting, morning staff efficient but not friendly and I overheard two staff being rude about a customer who was confused about online checkout. They are all very young and one got the feeling that the job was not interesting to them. This was once a lovely hotel - very sad that it has changed.

Summary: Bit depressing. Comfortable, fairly clean but impersonal and mostly unstaffed.

Positive: It was very very good , nice big room , decent tv and great shower bed was comfortable , will definitely book again

Negative: The checking in could do with someone actually being there , apart from that it’s excellent

Positive: Our standard double room was spacious and very comfortable.

Negative: I don't want to be too down on the Tollgate as the owners are clearly struggling keep the business viable but the lack of paid staff in evidence except at breakfast time makes for a less welcoming experience than we were used to from previous visits and it is very much a DIY experience now.
