Summary: Speechless!!! And that's not normal for me but I will give it a go ! Lol .... The Talbot Hotel is truly an amazing place to stay, if you are history nut such as myself the hotel is rich with history as is Peterborough itself, the staff go above and beyond to help any way they can to make your stay comfortable and stress free! ... Myself and my partner resided in the Burleigh Suite (103) ... The moment we entered the room it was just .... Wow !, the furnishings...of course the four poster bed too, we loved the bathroom too ... And loved the radio which we made a lot of use of 😊 all food was lovely and cooked to perfection Paul was a huge fan of The Talbot Burger 🍔 😁he also loved his breakfasts, I'm just not a big eater more of a grazer so unfortunately I never really ate much but all food looked delicious. Other guests were friendly and it was great to meet new people, even just local drinkers especially the couple with their cute little dog Milo (pic will follow as with many more!) also a local drinkers with his two retrievers Jasper and Piper 😊 would alo like to give a shout out to bar staff Andrew and the crew who couldn't do enough, especially Andrew who showed me some cards he acquired off eBay regarding the hotel, much appreciated 👍 ... This was a birthday treat for myself and a well need break for us both WE SHALL RETURN!! We love everything and everyone here, and to leave this morning, we was very sad to go !. But until next time, much love all and thank you ❤️

Summary: I really liked how the history of the hotel and its modern updating just seemed to fit together. I was impressed with its layout, the ample space, seating and tabling available for guests to sit outside and socialise. The staff were very helpful, assisting with any query we had with patience and politeness. The bedroom was very well equipped, with seating for two and ample storage space without it being overbearing. Very comfortable nights sleep was had and the food was very good and cooked to our requests. A very pleasant, relaxing stay in a clean, tidy homely accommodation in a small market town, steeped in history. I will visit Oundle again and I will stay at The Talbot Hotel.

Summary: I was visiting with family. I’d requested a ground floor room because of mobility issues, which was accommodated. The single room was cosy and comfortable. Nice walk in power shower with multiple heads and great selection of complementary shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I ate in the restaurant four times notwithstanding the breakfast time. The menu is varied and reasonably priced given the high quality of the food which seemed to be cooked to order. Similarly the breakfast menu was varied and is cooked to order while there is a self service continental menu. The members of staff were friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. Special mention to charming Lesley, the attentive Joshua and Vicky in the restaurant and best wishes to Jo in her fundraising as she trains for the London Marathon for a deserving cause
