Positive: The hosts, Jenny and John are exceptional. Right from the lovely welcome with coffee, cake and sharing their extensive knowledge of the battlefields to Jenny's first class cooking of both breakfasts and dinners with surprises at each meal. All our needs and questions were answered without hesitation.

Negative: Nothing lacking for a really pleasant stay.

Positive: The location is in a lovely quiet and friendly village, close to all the sightseeing places we wanted to go. John and Jennie made us feel very welcome and made our stay very enjoyable. Jennie would ensure we had everything we needed. I liked how the villagers were also friendly, would say good morning and occasionally make conversation.

Negative: We were there for a couple of days so there was nothing that we didn't like.

Positive: the silent picket is located amidst a quaint french village, with lovely garden and superb indoor facilities. A fantastic resource library for research about the first and second world war and especially the local war cemeteries . Dinner cooked by co host Jenny was excellent and great value for money, and breakfast was an exceptional start to the day. the bedroom was spacey and the bed was very comfortable. The ensuite was well fitted and also a good size. The silent picket is delightfully hosted by John and Jenny.

Negative: its hard to think of anything that could be improved, perhaps a stand alone shower cubicle instead of the 'over the bath' style provided - but that is being exceptionally picky

Summary: a perfect facility to base our trip to visit the locality and war memorials and cemeteries.

Positive: Hosts John & Jennie couldn’t have been more accommodating, the time spent with them was very pleasant indeed. Dinner prepared by Jennie was excellent.

Negative: The room was small, however it was very. Comfortable with a good shower.

Summary: If we return to the Somme it would be our choice of accommodation.
