Positive: The garden is just as beautiful as the photos. It’s not just peaceful and serene, it’s also welcoming. The hosts truly think of everything you might need on your stay, with a few pleasant surprises thrown in.

Negative: You share the property with the hosts, so it’s not private. They’re super nice though. However you can’t really leave the blinds open (which is the only way to see the garden without going outside) unless you don’t mind the hosts seeing you in your room. So I had to be conscious when dressing/undressing and I couldn’t sleep with the blinds open like I wanted to bc the thought of possibly being watched while I slept freaks me out. So it does lack privacy. Also there were little baby looking ants in the closet area. You can barely see them but I noticed they kind of get on everything in the closet. I had to wash all my clothes to make sure I didn’t inadvertently take any unintended guests home with me. The hosts do provide a washer and dryer for your convenience so it wasn’t a huge deal. Also I never saw them in the bedroom area of the room.

Summary: Tranquil, peaceful and amazing room, just not perfect.

Positive: The property is amazing! It’s unlike anywhere else that you will stay. It’s so special and one of our favorite places ever. It is like your own personal botanic garden and Les and Carol are THE best hosts. We wandered the property many times and found new things to look at. We sat in the garden and enjoyed a cup of tea each morning near the koi pond. Anything you need for your stay is at the secret garden. Any questions or advice you need will be given! Kapa’a is a great location for your stay on Kauai and much quieter than some of the more touristy areas. We can’t wait to come back :) Thank you so much Carol and Les!

Positive: True paradise, waking up in this magical garden, having breakfast on our little terrace, hearing the birds chirping, listening to Kauai showers... The best stay during our Hawaii holiday. When we return to Kauai, we'll definitely try to stay here again. Such welcoming, warm hearted hosts - we felt truly at home. Mahalo!

Positive: Lots of attention to detail. Stunning location and friendly hosts. Excellent shower. Really appreciated the little extras like freshly cut pineapple and chocolates. Quiet and tranquil.

Negative: There’s plenty of storage space but the living part of the room is a little on the small side.
