Perched above a private cove with a quiet beach of nearly 300 yards of white sand and shared with just four other homes, this beachfront estate offers some of the most spectacular ocean views in the Bahamas—vivid blue waters stretching endlessly beyond every window and keeping you mesmerized all day long.
This spacious property includes 4 bedrooms, accommodating 8 people, consisting of a 3-bedroom Main Villa and a separate 1-bedroom Beachfront Cottage—ideal for families, couples, or groups seeking privacy and casual luxury. Each bedroom features luxurious ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning, and beautiful tropical views.

The layout of The Salt House encourages socializing with family and friends while providing spaces for relaxation and seclusion. The greatroom offers vaulted ceilings and french doors that open oceanside to the pool deck and to the sunset porch on the front of the house. Relax in the cozy seating from Restoration Hardware in front of a Samsun 75" Smart TV. The greatroom flows to the dining area and kitchen. The kitchen has been purposefully laid out for an enjoyable cooking experience, while staying connected to conversations. It also features a large picture window to give you access to the outdoor entertaining area and a dreamy view of the ocean. All furniture in the home is either Restoration Hardware, Bungalow Home, or built by a local craftsman.
The Salt House features expansive outdoor living spaces. The oceanside centers around the heated infinity pool with its stunning view and swaying palm trees and tropical landscaping. The poolside beach bar was inspired by the Caribbean’s rustic rum bars and built using wood salvaged from a local shipwreck. It’s the perfect setting for conversations over an ice-cold Kalik or rum punch. An outdoor shower off the Beachfront Cottage makes for easy movement between the beach and pool or for showering under the sky or stars. Dining alfresco is the epitome of Caribbean living and you'll enjoy doing so on the locally crafted dining table on the covered porch as you taken in the endless views. A standup paddle board, 2-person ocean kayak, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, life jackets, sand toys, and a variety of board games and card games are provided.
Sustainability in travel is important to us. A Solar Power system with a battery backup was added December 2017 and expanded upon 3 times over the years to supply nearly 50% of the house’s electrical power and provides backup power for the main house bedroom air-conditioners, entire beachfront cottage, refrigerator, modem and wifi router and TVs, and select lights, among other areas. Other eco-friendly features of the home include local drought-resistant plants for landscaping, refillable glass water bottles, and energy efficient upgrades throughout.

Summary: Perfect, it is! The house layout is like no other. The bedrooms are spacious and not right beside the living and kitchen which makes it nice for a family with different bedtimes. The pool area and covered porch are the best for a day at the pool. You can be in the shade or the sun. Also enjoy lunch sitting around a huge table while watching others while the swim. The beach, there are no words to describe the private white sand beach. It is perfect for reading a book or laughing with your family while playing in the waves. The house has all your beach and pool toys you will need and more. Coming with your family or a few couples - it is just perfect. The house staff and chefs did awesome. I will be back!

Summary: This is a beautiful property in a beautiful location. The house is set up really nice and accommodated our family that included 5 adults and 1 child under 2. They had a great selection of ‘toys’ for adults and children. We paddled boarded, played bags and swam in the beautiful pool. Chef Anne came to the house and cooked for us one night. We had a great meal and she provided great service. So glad we did that. Great way to start our vacation! Most of the restaurants we ate at are in Georgetown, great food but 30 minutes from the house. Wish it could have been a little closer. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful property!

Summary: Be prepared to miss this place once you stay here. John & I booked The Salt House for our wedding stay. At first it was going a small wedding just the two of us, until family & friends saw The Salt House. Haha JK. Honestly we appreciated everything about our stay at #TheSaltHouse. Hands down the owner has put his creative mind to the design of the home. Must see the pictures we post. The beauty of The Salt House is SUBLIME! We all live in Florida and love Florida but there is something special about the Bahamas and always have a piece of our hearts. I could keep on & on talking about this place...if you want to see Exuma, Bahamas The Salt House is the place to book. The owner makes it very simple & his communication is excellent. Check out their website & VRBO for more booking details. You can even email them directly. During your stay the owner has a property management The Good Life Bahamas that takes care of any needs you may need... like pre stocking your fridge prior to arrival, a massage with the best view in the Exumas.. they can help. The Salt House is very well designed and We appreciate every thing it offers & also will be a part of special wedding day.

Summary: We had a fabulous time! The house and location are stunning, exactly as described online, if not better! The beach is almost private and one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. We were forced to leave 2 days early due to Hurricane Dorian's approach and Robert was very responsive and accommodating. Our only minor issue was that the back up power was broken during our stay. We lost power for 3 hours one night and it was very hot and dark. It was manageable for us but if you have medical or work issues that absolutely require power at all times, this may not be the place for you. We will definitely be back!
