Positive: It's a lovely, high-class hotel, kept very clean, and with ample helpful, friendly staff. The in-house restaurants are quite good and the breakfast spread was large. The massages at the spa seemed expensive (by Thai standards) but were worth it. I've had dozens of massages in Thailand and the outstanding massage I received from Nit was the best of them all. The picture-window view from our river-view room was enjoyable to me throughout the stay.

Negative: The pool chlorine level was too high for us - consequently we only used it once.

Summary: The Riverie was a highlight of our three-day, low-season stay in Chiang Rai

Positive: Beautiful property, views, and amenities. Family friendly pools, clean and secured Kids Club, and wodnerful breakfast buffet with a river view. Older gentleman dressed in local attire who was the greeter in the lobby was so friendly and welcoming every time we came in and out of the hotel.

Negative: A front desk staff member was not nice when asked where we could eat a snack we had brought back from an outing. She said there was no where we can do that, instead of offering an idea or a solution, which we found ourselvses downstairs outdoors near the Kids Club and pool where there were tables and chairs aplenty. We cleaned up after ourselves and were not a bother to anyone. Some staff need to be more kind and service-minded. A guest should NEVER feel like they're a bother.

Positive: The hotel was very beautiful and perfect for the family with kids for the great swimming pool it has. The size of the room corresponds to a 5-star hotel for sure; however, there were not that many amenities in the room which is not appropriate for a 5-star hotel. I liked the mini-counter for kids with their own cutlery. It was very nice. The hotel is peaceful located in a very nice setting.

Negative: The staff is overall friendly, but they don't speak English well, so it was difficult to get recommendations for the city. Some plates in the breakfast buffet were not clean and there were ants on some counters which I think can be controlled for.

Positive: Great place and a lot to look around. The decoration was amazing and we had so much fun walking around at night. Loved the art exhibitions of local artists. The indoor play place was amazing. The rooftop bar has the best view of Chiang Rai.

Negative: We had 3 rooms booked in total and only one of them was ready when we arrived at 2.00. The other two were only ready at 3 pm. The breakfast time was so hectic that it was hard to find a spot for all of us.

Summary: Despite the wait at the check in, it’s a nice place to stay. Summer time would be the best.
