Positive: The location was perfect for walking. It was a quiet place. There was a parking space outdoors. We had a couple of different rooms to be in. It was warm and full of character. Space in the Old Stable was used well.

Negative: We like to cook food in an oven and the oven provided was not great, although we appreciate limited space limits options for kitchen facilities. We would have liked better lighting in the main downstairs room, it was quite dark.

Summary: A cosy and comfortable place to stay with lots of character, excellent location for walking

Positive: The cottage had everything necessary for 2 people. The kitchen was well-equipped though it took a while to find hidden drawers with knives etc. Later, we found they were signposted in the cottage information folder! The location was ideal for walking, with paths as described, from the lane outside. We walked the fields route into the village most days.

Negative: We didn't notice the lack of washing machine in the property description but it didn't matter in that the weather was fine mostly so we didn't need one anyway.

Summary: It was a cosy retreat for 2, & a convenient base for walking & visiting family in Derbyshire.
