Positive: Lovely quaint old house expertly made into B&B. Owners were friendly, hospitable and professional, very welcoming and friendly. Spotless room with ample amenities and superb breakfast

Negative: Although we totally understood, the taking off of outdoor shoes before going upstairs to our bedroom ( onto the carpet) wasn’t ideal and the steep narrow stairs could put more elderly unfit guests off

Positive: The B&B is small in nature but the owners do a heck of a lot to enhance the stay. The rooms are very comfortable with good WiFi and decent family style setting. The breakfast was absolutely first rate. I often stay in really good hotels for work and hands down the quality of the breakfast and coffee was first rate and the best I can remember. The added touch of cake in the room went down well also! Really friendly, chatty but also extremely professional owners who take great pride in their well ran business. Great idea of a communal fridge in hallway for the three rooms with fresh milk and water marked for each room. Nice power shower and very clean rooms and bathroom. It’s a (literally) shoes off home, rather than a hotel but with the added benefit of 5 star service,

Negative: Only that we couldn’t stay longer and explore a bit more to be honest.

Positive: I thought I'd left a review already, but apparently, i didn't! And I cant ignore it because this is such a gorgeous place to stay, we booked just because it was close to an event we were going to but we already want to come back just to stay here again. Hosts are so lovely! The room was comfy, the lemon cake in the bedroom was gorgeous, and the breakfast was amazing! We have told so many people about the breakfast 😂 thank you for a quick but memorable stay

Positive: Tony and Julia were incredibly welcoming and really were the perfect hosts. Julia kindly greeted me as soon as I parked on the drive and took me through all the booking details, keys and so on. The house and my room were just lovely and it honestly felt like a real “home from home”. Both Julia and Tony also shared some of the fascinating history of the house, which I really enjoyed. The room itself was spacious yet cosy, with just the right amount of storage. The ensuite was spotless, and the power shower had excellent water pressure. I really appreciated the thoughtful extras such as the robes and slippers. I loved the teacups and saucers in the bedroom and there was a great selection of teas, along with coffee and hot chocolate. The homemade Brownies made by Tony were delicious. I need the recipe! Having access to the shared fridge was also very handy, with each room having its own dedicated space for fresh milk and filtered water, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of choice. I had a delicious mushroom omelette with toast and peppermint tea. As I had some time to spare before heading off to a friend’s event, Julia very kindly recommended some local antique centres and pointed me towards a selection of nearby walks, which was wonderful. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Old Posthouse to anyone looking for somewhere special to stay in the area.
