Negative: Original room I was allocated was above the kitchen fans, however the staff were lovely and moved me room straight away.

Negative: I didnt like the frosted glass sliding door on bathroom which was opposite a full length mirror.

Positive: Loved the bar area. Very stylish. The garden was beautiful. Lots of free parking. Clean. Friendly staff, especially Laurie. The hotel room was spacious. The restaurant looked lovely. The shower huge. Nice big shower. Location very central.

Negative: The hotel room was very cold and never warmed up. The towels were old, thin, and hard. The mugs in the room were tiny! One of the beds was VERY uncomfortable and noisy! The tikka massala was watery, with no taste, cheap cuts of chicken. The rice is bland and rubbery. The poppadoms covered in grease/oil. The portion sizes tiny! The sheesh kababs were dry and hard, and the salad was tiny! The continental breakfast was good. The full English, again small and not great quality. The food let it down! The actual building steeped in history. The noise from the road in the walled garden was a shame. But a beautiful place to sit on a summer day. With a few more adjustments and attention to detail and the chef providing a tastier, more substantial, and better quality tasting food, this could be an absolute gem!
