Negative: Unfortunately could only get a couple of channels on the television and bathroom had unpleasant smell at times.

Positive: The Old Nickle is a very good value. It is an old Amsterdam establishment and as such is built in the old Amsterdam style. The stairway is steep and narrow as built in the old days to save space. The staff insisted on helping us with luggage up the stairs. There is no elevator. The room was very comfortable and clean. My only complaint is due to its good location in the heart of the city there is quite a bit of noise from the street until maybe 2am. After that, good sleeping. We were on the second floor (one level above the street). The hotel did have earplugs located on the nightstand. We probably should have used them but did not.

Negative: Excessive street noise. Should have used the furnished ear plugs.

Summary: I would be happy to stay there again.
