Positive: Peaceful cottage, very quiet. Kitchen was well equipped and beds and sofas were comfortable. Had plenty of charachter and hosts were responsive when I had a question. Hosts gave plenty of information about the cottage and area in advance that was helpful.

Negative: Few minor niggles, like no handwash in kitchen or upstairs toilet. No headboard on upstairs bed, meaning the pillow slips off and curtains too thin in bedroom with very bright streetlight outside. Only one drying up cloth in the kitchen was not enough. Not deal breakers, but these little touches would have made a difference to my overall experience.

Positive: A beautiful, characterful property tucked away in the countryside. Very clean and cozy, perfect for a remote getaway.

Negative: The only downside to being so remote is the country lanes you have to travel down to get to the property. This wasn’t too bad though as traffic is almost non existent and there are lots of passing places.

Summary: The perfect rural retreat, came away feeling refreshed and in tune with nature.

Positive: Loved the peace and quiet and the birdsong. Cottage was comfortable and provided most things we needed for a few nights away. Local pub was very friendly and good food.

Negative: Shower was beautiful but the temperature wouldn't regulate and was either far too hot or freezing cold. Outside space was a waste of time as the tiny space was just outside the front of the cottage, furniture was extremely dirty and the space was used as turning space for most cars in the village so not pleasant to sit.

Summary: Great hideaway in the sticks.

It was equipped with all necessary amenities to ensure a comfortable stay during our brief visit. Our decision to select this location was primarily motivated by a desire to avoid the typical New Year’s Eve festivities, which tend to include disruptive fireworks that unsettle our dogs. The cottage provided an ideal sanctuary, enabling us to enjoy a peaceful retreat while allowing our pets to remain calm in an environment free from the usual celebratory noise. This setting not only facilitated relaxation but also allowed us to appreciate the natural beauty of the surroundings during our stay.

Negative: The primary concern regarding the cottage was the lack of a backyard area. A garden at the rear would have been desirable; however, the available space is located at the front of the cottage, which is situated on the main road. Nevertheless, this was not a significant issue, as the traffic on the road is relatively light.

Positive: The old coach house is a very well appointed, everything you need for a self catered break away. A cosy multi-fuel burner and a large sofa creates a cosy and relaxing atmosphere. Fully fitted kitchen with everything needed. A very quiet location is welcomed compared to a busy city location.
