Positive: Spacious and comfortable with the thoughtful provision of milk and biscuits. The heating was set to a very comfortable temperature and everything one might need in the way of furnishing, kitchen appliances etc was present. The location is quietly rural with good parking and it was conveniently located for our family weekend in Steyning. We would definitely consider booking again.

Negative: The directions that we were provided with for finding the location I found quite confusing. A minor point… the water pressure was very high which meant that it was easy to turn on a tap and have water sprayed everywhere. This made setting the temperature and pressure of the shower a little tricky.

Negative: Bed and pillows lumpy and uncomfortable. Sofa & arm chairs dirty & stained. No coffee table. Cooker was old and antiquated. Whole place could do with an update.

Positive: This was everything we could possibly have hoped for! We booked this break as a treat for our wedding anniversary, and took our kids and dogs too. The Carthouse has been restored perfectly, it is extremely peaceful and we didn’t see or hear another soul all weekend and enjoyed our little bubble as a family. If you absolutely need WiFi in your life, you will struggle, but for us, being cut off was just what we wanted and needed. We are already looking at when we can return but next time for longer!

Negative: We should have booked a longer stay! Would happily have spent weeks here.
