Positive: The Moken Eco Village was the highlight of our trip to Thailand. The island is peaceful, beautiful and relaxing, made so by the friendly and welcoming staff. They were all wonderful but in particular Pam's communication prior to the stay and throughout was wonderful. My husband even had a sunburn and she managed to get us some aloe Vera sent over with the next group of visitors from the mainland! There were two other members in particular who had excellent English, were great at recommending dishes and telling us the history of the area, one was Faii and the other we unfortunately didn't get her name but she was from Bangkok. We had the kingfisher bamboo bungalow which we loved, as it was set slightly further down the beach and had a hammock outside. The fans were more than sufficient to help us sleep. The kayaks and snorkelling gear was free to use. There was a brilliant masseuse for a reasonable price. Although we initially tried the 'The bar' down the beach near the horizon resort, which did have delicious freshly caught fish, we ended up staying at the hotel for all our meals after this as the food was that good. We love Thai food and this was some of the best Thai food we've had, everything was delicious and catered to your spice tolerance level. We cannot thank you all enough for our wonderful honeymoon!

Negative: The trip from Phuket airport did take some time, around 3 hours by car to kurabiri pier, 45 min boat journey which was beautiful and 20 mins on a 4x4 open vehicle but it was organised perfectly with no stress by Pam! Our driver Rak was the best!

Positive: Everything. Beautiful bungalows and restaurant area. Beach amazing. Food excellent, very affordable. Staff so nice and helpful. If you want total peace and relaxation this is the place. Not great for snorkeling, limited visibility. But totally swimmable even at low tide. Water and beach very clean. Kayaks and SUP available no charge. Two other bungalow places nearby to eat at if wanted. Only three in total for miles of beach. Great that places like this still exist. A treat.

Negative: Nothing. All good.

Positive: This is a wonderful place, beautifully nestled in nature! You sleep to the rolling waves of the ocean, just great! I particularly loved to early morning excursion to the inner region of the island!

Negative: For a longer stay, you need to know that it is hardly possible to move around on this island, so you are pretty much restricted to the hotel.

Positive: The owner and every one of the staffs are very kind and helpful and offer a wonderful service. The organization for transport was perfect and smooth. The restaurant in the village was really nice. They have equipments for kayak and snorkeling for rent (free of charge). The room was spacious and clean. Surrounded by nature, you can even observe exotic birds from the balcony. Thank you for all staffs for your help and for your smile !

Negative: Wifi is limited in the restaurant area, and weakens depends on the weather. But it was not so much problem for us to be de-connected in such a peaceful environment.

Positive: We had an amazing stay at Moken Eco Village. Our bungalow looked directly out on the beach and was spacious and comfortable. The bed was large and had a mosquito net. Seeing Hornbills each day in the trees from our terrace was a real bonus. Breakfast was varied and very good, with hot food cooked to order as well as plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, homemade yoghurt etc. Cocktails whilst watching the sunset were very special and the restaurant meals were very good. The restaurant staff were friendly and attentive even when their English sometimes made communication tricky (but fun!). The managerial staff were helpful, friendly and able to organise arrival and onward transport very efficiently. The beach was clean and had beautiful soft sand and the sea was delicious. One of the beaches was very safe for children as it didn't shelve at all, but the other one, which was more popular, had quite a steep shelf at low tide. It was wonderful being able to take the free kayaks and paddle through quiet mangroves at high tide or paddle across to the two small islands opposite with their sandy beaches. Unfortunately we had some rogue bad weather meaning our second kayaking trip was in the rain which was definitely not the same vibe!! I had a couple of massages which were excellent. We joined the early morning savannah trip one day which was fascinating and seemed very incongruous - fully expected to see giraffes and zebra!
