Positive: The location is brilliant

Negative: The room i was given was not very good for the money i had spent. It was next to the lifts and that made the room so much smaller.

Summary: 3rd time i stayed here and it was not as good as the previous twice ive stayed.

Positive: Friendly welcome at check in. Warm, super clean room. Great view. Good fruit and yogurt bar at breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff at breakfast.

Negative: Breakfast. Poor choice of bread. Hard poached eggs. Overly sweet granola. Service in the lounge for pre dinner drinks and tea/coffee was slow and the staff didn’t seem to want to be there. Pillows were too soft and the quilt didn’t fill the quilt cover so that there wasn’t enough quilt coverage for the whole bed.

Positive: Beautiful hotel, our room overlooked the gardens with a view of York Minster. Immaculately clean throughout, nice bar and right next door to the train station. Very friendly staff and comfortable bed.

Negative: The swimming pool was closed temporarily due to an issue, unfortunately
