Positive: Lovely old mill house great secluded location at Santon south of Douglas , great comfort , very personal service from the owners Robert and KC felt like we were in our own home , extensive continental style breakfast, lovely gardens to roam or use outside seating , use of kitchen facilities etc .if you want something different than normal B&B this is it .

Summary: Very relaxing stay would highly recommend and will return again

Positive: Fabulous breakfast - yoghourt with compôte particularly delicious, as was the home-made granola. Varied fruit, eg strawberries, bilberries or melon - all fresh. Pastries fresh and different each day, sometimes cinnamon buns, croissants or pain au chocolat. Coffee, tea and toast ad libitum, with a wide choice of spreads. Good food made better by good company around the communal table.

Negative: Having to leave.

Summary: Robert and KC are excellent hosts, and extraordinarily welcoming to their guests.

Positive: It is a beautiful tranquil place to stay with plenty of historical interest. Robert was only too willing to explain the story behind the house. It is just the place to unwind and relax. We enjoyed the extensive continental breakfast, which was freshly prepared each morning. We will return.

Negative: It is difficult to be critical because our visit was so successful. Some may be surprised there is no tv in the bedrooms but the excellent wifi more than compensates for that.

Positive: The hosts, Robert and KC, went out of their way to look after us. The house is a lovely old building, attractively modernised and decorated in character. It sits in beautiful grounds, with a river walk from the house. The bedroom was spacious and bathroom well appointed, and the shared spaces, kitchen, conservatory and sitting room, were large and welcoming. Breakfast included home made gluten free granola and even home made gluten free bread, which I was very grateful for. We felt able to make ourselves at home in the shared spaces, and we enjoyed getting to know Robert and KC. We will definitely be back!

Negative: There was a small issue with a group visiting but the hosts have decided that they will not combine groups and bed and breakfast guests again, so this has been resolved.

Summary: Highly recommend as a base to explore the Island of Man from (using your own transport)
