The Milking Parlour Grande is one of seven properties set in the complex at Oakerthorpe Holiday Village and is a barn conversion consisting of 9 bedrooms. The ground floor has 4 double bedrooms all with en-suite and 2 twin rooms along with a family bathroom. A further 3 double bedrooms all with en-suites are on the first floor with a large living area complete with banqueting table and seating up to 24 people with a state of the art kitchen which includes an American fridge/freezer, wine cooler, range cooker, dishwasher and for your convenience the property has a washing machine and tumble drier on the ground floor.

The Grande has a standard occupancy of 18 however we are able to sleep 24 by adding additional put up beds in the largest bedrooms. The additional price is £40 per bed/per night.

The property boasts of underfloor heating with air conditioning in the lounge/kitchen area and is very snug and cosy despite of the mandatory single glazing required as the property is a listed building.

For your enjoyment the property boasts of Freeview TV and Wi-Fi and private courtyard complete with hot tub.

Incidentally The Milking Parlour Grande was visited by Oti Mabuse the Strictly Come Dancing Star where she recorded the media advert for Sainsbury’s.
The village grounds include a playpark with playhouse, designated BBQ area, a floodlit sports area and an enclosed dog walking area along the banks of the River Amber, where the adjacent sluice gates and weir will be seen that served to provide water power to the neighbouring Cotton Mill circa 1790.
Adjacent the main Farmhouse is a walled Orchard which include geese, ducks, bantams, quail, alpacas, goats, rhea (small ostrich), peacocks, sheep and meerkats which is proving very popular with the younger guests especially helping Farmer Vic including fruit picking when in season and feeding and collecting the eggs from the chickens throughout the year except during the Christmas period.

Oakerthorpe Holiday Village aims to provide a truly memorable stay for all its guests with top class accommodation, striving at all times to deliver the very best along with giving a unique and memorable experience however we would like to make you aware that approximately 150 metres from the property is a main railway line which for many, especially our younger visitors as a steam train can often be seen enriches the village experience and it must be said there is minimal sound pollution.

Summary: Stayed with friends & family for husbands birthday , the property is beautiful and absolutely faultless . The owner has gone above & beyond to meet our needs & so kindly arranged for the property to be available for me from 12 o clock on the day of check in, communication was fantastic & owner always responded and was most helpful . Would definitely recommend any of the properties on oakerthorpe holiday village. My nephew spent time feeding the animals on the farm & collected eggs all at no extra charge. My only complaint would be that we had to come home at the end of our stay ! We have been home a few hours and already missing the hot tub !
