Positive: Very clean and spacious room. Large bed and very comfortable. Enjoyed the smart TV. We were here in the summer so the main building was a bit deserted, but we actually liked it, this way it was really relaxing and quiet. Beautiful lake and hiking nearby (less crowded than lake tahoe) Easy Communication through booking and easy check-in (you don't meet anyone for check-in, just get sent the entry codes).

Negative: Wouldn't call it an appartement or loft, it only has a standard fridge and microwave. No basic utensils. Had to take out the trash ourselves and collect the dirty linens.

Summary: Nice big room with comfortable bed.

Positive: clean room for 2 with king bed. small toilet/shower room but ok. Coffee and tea was available and small fridge.

Negative: Check out time. Had a wedding at 4pm and wanted to stay until 1pm to ready. No reply from Booking or owner. No dining in the area, bring your own food.

Positive: The location for what we wanted to do was great. The SPA was closed (that would have been nice to know when booking). The check in was simple and the codes were all given, but small details like- you will find the parking pass in the room or some other details sent were always just a bit inaccurate- like they were for another property.

Negative: There was a siren/alarm that was going off one evening … every minute3 loud beeps. It went on for hours. We went looking to try to find the source and it could be heard in the middle of the building only at our end. Messaged the property manager and didn’t get a message until the next morning wondering if it might be a tractor. It was definitely NOT a tractor. The checkout message again was a bit confusing… clean all dishes (there were none- no kitchen) and put all dirty linens in the bag marked under the sink. Didn’t see anything. Also - use the parking pass to park on the street. (No parking pass was in the unit). We didn’t think this was an issue considering there weren’t many people, but we wanted to be sure so we emailed booking who then told us yo call the property manager. All this could be avoided with correct information and attention to detail for the specific unit instructions.

Summary: Kirkwood itself is rather empty/sparse in the summer- which was fine and good by us! But if you are thinkin ng there

Positive: Accessing the room was very easy and the room's location at the end of the hall was great for access to the meadow. We would rent the room again without hesitation. The host was very responsive too.

Negative: Only that there were no plates, bowls or silverware so that we could have simple meals. There are not many dining options nearby. There was a coffee maker with plenty of coffee, fridge, and microwave which were appreciated.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable and liked easy access to the meadow.
