Negative: There was no lake, contrary to the description and the name. Apparently the lake is a reservoir that is drawn down by August. Probably wouldn’t have stayed there if we had known.

Positive: Artwork all over the rental that was quite beautiful and created by the host. The host did not know I was bringing my dogs, although I thought I had made that clear. And. And even so, the host was very kind and open-minded about having the dogs there.
Negative: My only note to someone traveling there with dogs is that they must be on a leash at all times, and even though there was a backyard, you can’t just let the dogs back into the backyard because the host has dogs and cats. Otherwise there are plenty of places to walk the dogs on leash and not too too far from a dog park.
Summary: Beautiful house in a gorgeous location by Lake Shasta. Super lovely hosts.
