Summary: Lots of fun, me and my friends wish we could stay longer then we did

Summary: The place was dirty! The bath mats, the rugs, the floors were all disgusting. The owner lives next door and I told him it was dirty and all he said was “sorry “. I had him come in to clean two of the sinks because they were dirty and he said that he has a cleaning service! Also there were loose tiles on the floor and a loose post on the deck that was dangerous. Also no water pressure at all!

Summary: We've been coming to Harbor Creek Lodge annually since 2017 because we loved the space, but 2025 was finally the year that convinced us we can never come back. As much as we've appreciated HCL in the past, the house is too far gone now, so much stuff has broken in the past year.Primary complaints1) No hot water for almost 3 days. Arrived on Thursday, hot water heater was non-functional. Jim tried an amateur install of a new water heater on Friday, but failed, shut off the hot water lines entirely, and we didn't end up having functional hot water until Sunday morning. No hot water for 3 days didn't just mean no hot showers, but also the dishwasher relies entirely on hot water, so we had no dishwasher until the last night and had to handwash ALL the dishes for 45 guests with cold water in a single (BADLY LEAKING) kitchen sink. Stayed up until 2am handwashing dishes to keep up.2) Badly infested with Stink Bugs (Brown Marmorated). I'm a fairly bug-tolerant person, but there were literally tens of thousands of these stink bugs all throughout the house, probably living inside the walls. They liked the light, so in the daytime the every window would collect 100 bugs and they'd constantly fall onto the floor, or fall onto us! A year ago there were a few bugs here, but this year it was a straight up infestation3) Other stuff that had broken since last year: Kitchen sink drain was badly leaking. Kitchen fridge pooling water. Laundry and dishwasher had broken latches.

Summary: When getting together with friends and our families, it's hard to find a space large enough for everyone to share. This property was able to fit us all and without hassle. Jim was a great host and we'd be happy to return.

Summary: Four families, total 20, spend 4 days and 3 nights at this property. We enjoyed the big space for all the 12 kids from all different range of age. They stayed occupied while the 8 adults had multiple meeting throughout the four days. We had no issues with the house. We enjoyed the cars. Jim the owner was very helpful and friendly.

Summary: We loved the quirkiness of this place, the open floor-plan of the main floor & The fact that the hang out area was all in one level. The kitchen was well equipped to feed over 30 of us, with gigantic salad, bowls, and large pots and pans. We also really appreciated the three refrigerators! The kitchen could use another coffee maker, but we brought our own so it was no big deal. Someone suggested another dishwasher would be ideal… Our group was just so happy to have found a place that could accommodate all of us, no one was complaining about the shortfalls of this place. We enjoyed the kayaks and swimming in the pond, checking out antique cars & the game room gave us a place to share a slideshow with our group!!! If your group is looking for something high-end and fancy, this is not the place for you. But it was a perfect place for us!

Summary: Stayed here for a buddies golf trip and we had a blast!

Summary: My Group: A youth Ministry from the suburbs of Detroit MI. We had 75 in total, 55 teenagers and 20 adults. The Pros: The property was in a great location that allowed our group to have travel days into Olympic and Mt. Raineer National Park, Port Townsend for a whale-watching tour, and Seattle. The property itself is secluded with tons of space! To sleep 75 we brought a bunch of air mattress and slept Girls in the upstairs bunkroom and down stairs bedrooms. For the boys the Middle schoolers piled into the gym room while the highschool group slept in the side of the house with the two great rooms (upstairs empty and downstairs filled with cars) The pond was an absolute blast! We had so much fun every day swimming from morning till night! We used the "game room" to debrief with our team and have teaching times together. For group and quiet times the property had tons of space to spread out. Jim the owner was extremely pleasant and also uses the funds from the rental to do nonprofit work in the city. The Cons: To be honest, the house was not very clean at all when we arrived. we went to the store and bought lots of cleaning supplies. We even bought all new sheets for most of the beds. In addition, the house clearly needs some love as the furniture is dated and everything is worn out. For our group it was fine, although the first day was rough. If you are high maintenance, this rental is not for you. If you are flexible, it is a great deal for the cost!

Summary: This beautiful and chaotic space has become a yearly tradition for our group. Great space, weird vibes, good times
Yesay S. Jan 21, 2024 08:02:02 AM
Summary: We had stayed her over 13 years ago and the host was amazing then and now! However, the house not so much. The house was incredibly dirty, Dirty laundry inside the house, dust everywhere, and the house it sell was in desperate need of some TLC. Very large house and great for entertaining large gatherings but I think it is time for a uplift.
