Summary: Staff was great, allowed early check-in, took care of an issue within minutes. Let us park car on the side of the property post checkout while we went to an event. Will be back

Summary: No hairdryer. No working tv. Old and tired finishes. Peeling wallpaper. Moldy bathroom. Dusty. Comfortable bed. Good water pressure.

Summary: Location was great. Local to many attractions and outdoor activities. The room was very dated but serviceable. Beds were comfortable and the area was quiet. Allocating more time for cleaning would improve guest impressions. Washroom sink was not thoroughly cleaned, bathroom amenities were not stocked, and sadly both large windows were quite dirty and smudged, marring the beautiful mountain view. The room had a chair with a cigarette burn on it. Sheets were so wrinkled, they looked like they had been slept in already All these can be easily improved with no added investment. Drive carefully into the property as the driveway is damaged in many areas.

Summary: The staff was excellent. Unfortunately when we were there, the pool was closed due to a chemical imbalance. Having operated an apartment complex pool for years, I understand the reasoning, and we found plenty of other things to do in town or in Lake Placid. The location was perfect. Far enough out from the hustle and bustle of Lake Placid, but close enough to be able to enjoy our time.

Summary: The Hungry Trout is a neat little hotel very convenient to many area attractions. The owners are very helpful. The rooms could use some updating, but overall fit our needs for our vacation. A larger fridge would have been better.

Summary: The Hungry Trout Resort is a classic place to stay if you are interested in fishing the Ausable River. Very convenient with private access to the river. The fly shop on premises is excellent with great guides! The Pub was great in years past but is closed now. I really hope it reopens. The upscale restaurant is very nice with great views of the falls. Overall a solid place to stay without the hustle of staying in Lake Placid but close enough to go there for dinner.
