Summary: High marks for us especially with awesome mountain biking so close. We stayed here years ago and still so very impressed with this historic hotel, we will definitely come back more often! A nice staff & well maintained a great vibe here for sure!

Summary: The decor made me feel like I was staying at a European hotel. I enjoyed my stay in such historic surroundings. I hadn’t realized that breakfast was included and it was quite gourmet compared too many other free breakfasts. I enjoyed watching the deer stroll by while I was eating! I would definitely stay there again.

Summary: Vintage, historical landmark… old. We’ve always wanted to stay here. One and done. It’s an old property that hasn’t been updated at all. Paper thin walls, no extras in the room; no coffee maker, fridge or microwave. Don’t take your leftovers back to the room. They need to update the mattresses. That’s the most important thing when traveling. I woke up with a kink in my neck and my back was sore. If you’re into old, vintage, historic motels, this is your place. I’ll stick to my Hampton Inn, Marriott, or my Hilton. No pool. Green and gross. No working hot tub either. We were a little bummed.

Summary: Comfortable and simple historic stay. We were pleasantly surprised how big the room was with porch access too. Breakfast was perfect and overall a lovely little CO town tucked far away. I don’t believe there was AC in the room but the ceiling fan and open windows helped. We hope to come back one day, hopefully before the castle is developed into a spa - so sad that the public access is null due to exclusive ownership.

Summary: I really wish I could experience this hotel twenty years ago. As with every thing, time can take a toll. I can appreciate the history in this place but there are a few things that need to be updated. Our room smelled of cleaning chemicals and the water smelled like copper. The breakfast was kinda mid, as the kids would say. Coffee was cold and most of the tables were dirty.
