Positive: Lovely location and very well equipped house, easy to find from the A1M junction 47. Well kept gardens, with nice views of fields. Short drive to Knaresborough. Friendly hosts, accommodating with allergies. Really enjoyed our stay.
Negative: Nothing.
Summary: Short break meeting up with friends and a journey on the Embsay to Bolton Abbey Heritage Railway.

Positive: Nice spacious lounge/dining area looking out to garden and fields beyond. Peace and quiet whilst watching birds and sheep; very relaxing. Large wall-hung all singing-all dancing tv (bit too high-tec for me). Well appointed kitchen stocked with everything you need for a short stay. Hosts provided milk, eggs, tea, coffee, sugar and breakfast cereal enough for a few days. Upstairs is a large bedroom and ensuite shower room. Very comfortable king size bed. Overall everything was very good.
Negative: Sloping ceiling upstairs took a little getting used to. Shower cubicle was rather slippery. A non-slip shower mat would have been welcome.

Positive: Beautifully maintained, tastefully decorated/furnished and very clean. A fabulous quiet location with great views and a very pleasant garden. Lots of lovely and thoughtful extras including a welcome pack of provisions including fruit, bread, preserves, orange juice, milk, tea, coffee etc. Jim and Carole are excellent hosts who have created a cosy home from home. So good in fact, we’re returning in August!

Positive: Location, peaceful, convenient for walks and for access to town, friendly and helpful owners. Everything in the apartment works well, generally very easy to use, and to live in. Much provided: bacon, eggs, bread, millions of teabags, coffee machine and a lifetime supply of coffee capsules, fruit, milk, butter, bottle of wine, alcohol-free beer (6 bottles), several days of fruit. Such supplies are exceptional in comparison with other apartments we have experienced in recent years.
Negative: Bed is a bit narrow; floorboards upstairs somewhat creaky when walking around

Positive: Absolutely superb accommodation: immaculately clean, really beautifully decorated/well-appointed, tremendous attention to detail everywhere. All electrical appliances were of a very high quality/spec, modern and worked properly (not always the case in holiday accommodation!). Clear instructions provided for all appliances and the Welcome/Information pack was really well-written, interesting and informative. Board games and lots of DVDs were available (and the chess set was amazing!). Bed, sofa, chairs all extremely comfortable; shower was great. The rooms were just so beautiful 😍 Huge windows in the lounge provided excellent views of the stunning garden, bird feeders and adjacent field (complete with sheep). The bird life was very good, especially in the surrounding environment/woods (Merlin bird app recommended for birders!). Fantastic, welcoming, kind hosts - nothing was too much trouble! Lots of provisions were already supplied (fruit, wine, lots of breakfast items, filter coffee etc.) and it was clear that much thought had gone into what holidaymakers might need (including bathroom toiletries). We enjoyed every minute of our stay and hope to return next year. Thanks Xx
Negative: Nothing to say here, really (one tiny issue would be maybe a couple more cooking utensils - food tongs, 2nd frying pan/small egg pan, draining board - might be good). However, the hosts are happy to provide anything else you may need if you ask.
