Positive: The grembeng is a newly opened hotel in the middle of Balinese jungle. It might be a bit hard to find at first, but that is also the charm of it. This place is an oasis of peace. The location is probably one of the best we ever stayed at in Bali. Waking up to the sound of birds and monkeys and falling asleep under the Milky Way, makes it one of the few places in Bali where you won’t hear cars. The view from the room is incredible and there is a lot of privacy. Dewa is one of the kindest people we ever met. He and his family took very good care of us during our stay and were very helpful with arranging transportation and anything else we asked them. Around the grembeng there are many beautiful rice fields, waterfalls and mountains. There even is a private waterfall that you can access with stairs that go down from the front door of the room. With a scooter everything is close! We extended our stay multiple times and will definitely go back next time we visit Bali. Thank you so much for everything Dewa and your sweet family, for making our stay unforgettable!
Negative: Nothing! Do notice that staying in the jungle means there can be insects and other animals. Dewa happily removes them from the room in case this occur.

Positive: 1. The host: Dewa was absolutely wonderful and, after 5 weeks in Bali, definitely our favourite host. He took care of every detail while always respecting our privacy, so we felt completely comfortable. Every morning he prepared a delicious breakfast and even remembered details such as our allergies and favourite coffee. He also introduced us to a traditional local sweet breakfast that we would never have discovered otherwise. We really enjoyed our conversations over breakfast and all the stories and local insights he shared with us. Dewa also took us on a day trip as our driver and later drove us to our next destination. Everything was comfortable, smooth and very well organised. Thank you so much, Dewa :) we truly wish you all the best and every success with this beautiful place! 2. The room: spotless, spacious and beautifully maintained, with an incredibly comfortable bed, a desk and excellent Wi-Fi. My husband worked remotely and was surprised by how reliable the connection was, even during video calls. The bathroom was also clean and comfortable, and we loved the little terrace where we could sit in the evening and listen to the sounds of nature. 3. The location & property: absolutely stunning. The property is tucked away in a beautiful valley surrounded by forest, with incredible views and a gorgeous infinity pool. There is also a kitchen available for guests. 4. The area: perfect for nature lovers. There is a private path down to a small waterfall, while rice fields and other waterfalls are within walking distance. We barely needed any transport, it was wonderful to simply explore the area on foot. Although there is no restaurant on site, there is a very good restaurant at a nearby partner hotel, only about a 5-minute walk away.
Negative: Honestly, nothing. We loved our stay and would gladly return. This is a newly opened place offering amazing value compared with the nearby hotels. A truly special place that we hope more people will discover!
