Positive: the location is fantastic - by the railway and canal - but you cannot hear the trains when in the room - room was comfortable and very clean = food was good

Negative: service charge on food bill - didn`t know about that un-till bill came - to be fair the lad took it off when i explained that my company wont pay service charges - it just took the edge off a lovely meal and evening

Positive: Perfect location for us following a day shopping at Bicester Village. Lovely warm welcome, log burner, cosy feel. Food superb - can recommend the steak & katsu curry. Nice wine. Great team. Thank you.

Negative: To offer a fair & balanced review, we personally felt the room rate was a little overpriced at £100. We were warned on check-in about the strong smell of paint & had to keep the window open all night. The room was clean but quite tired, particularly the bathroom. Ok for an overnight stay.

Positive: My friend and I stayed using two rooms and both of us would have no hestlitation in returning. Great value for money. Nicola and James made us welcome. super friendly but not "in your face". Nicole was alone in the bar and restaurant but the effort she put in you wouldn't have noticed she was by herself. Excellent food from James, comfy cosy room, fantastic management. Also we were introduced to Duck chips, WOW! Will be back with the family next time we are in the area.

Negative: nothing to dislike as great value.

Positive: The bar & restaurant were lovely. The food was really nice & so was the service.

Negative: Our room was disappointing. The bathroom wasn’t as clean as I would have liked. We had to have a twin room as the double was out of service which was not a problem, however, the beds were uncomfortable & so were the pillows. Also we could have had breakfast at an extra cost but breakfast was not served until 10am which was too late for us.

Summary: It was disappointing to be honest.

Positive: Clean and quiet. Continental breakfast was good value

Negative: Late change from double to twin room. Had a message asking if a twin was ok and to call back but despite numerous calls no one answered . The tv didn't work until following morning. The room had just been painted but the fumes were so strong , a window had to be opened all night for fresh air (and in Nov somewhat cold!). The emergency exit lighting was flashing or staying on all night.

Positive: Lovely friendly staff who work so hard and couldn't do enough for us . The location was good for us on our road North after getting off ferry in Portsmouth. We arrived at 7pm and had an excellent meal and drinks . We had an early night on a reasonably comfortable bed . The lovely hard working manager Nicole had a lovely Continental breakfast box outside our room for our early 8pm departure. Shower was excellent . Many Thanx everyone .

Negative: These are only suggestions for improvement and in no way reflect how we feel about the place . Perhaps replace the rug on the floor, could be bigger as I kept tripping on it - and the towels could have been softer and whiter . Maybe some air freshener would be nice too as it's an old worldy establishment .
