Positive: The pub was great. Good selection of beers, the staff were great and the food was fantastic!

Negative: The only thing that let it down was the lack of hot water. Apparently the boiler had gone down

Positive: The room we booked was in a small unit converted from an outbuilding within the Fleece pub car park. We could walk to the pub for our meals. The bus stop was nearby. The room was adequate for our overnight stays. Comfortable bed with clean bed linen. Towels provided. The staff were really helpful and cheerful.

Negative: A small thing…the room kettle was too small and could not be detached from the flex to fill it up. A jug to fill from the tap to pour into the kettle could be a solution. There were no shower gels, soaps or shampoos provided but again, this was solved by asking the staff to help bring some in.

Summary: The Fleece pub at Bishop Wilton is ideal for a rural stay within a beautiful village setting.

Positive: Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were cosy and comfortable. We paid for the cooked breakfast and we were not disappointed ! The food was excellent, freshly cooked, and beautifully presented . The whole stay was very good value for money. We were travelling with three dogs, and the Fleece Inn were happy for the dogs to stay at no extra charge. We will definitely be staying there again.

Positive: Lovely village, nice traditional pub. Plenty of parking. Really friendly and welcoming. Room clean, bed comfortable. Good that accommodation is separate from pub building. Excellent cooked breakfast.

Negative: They have just taken over so this does not reflect on them really, we had a very enjoyable stay. But for improvement, in time: The plumbing was noisy, but they are aware. The only place to hang clothes was inside the bathroom, there wasn't even a coat hook (didn't matter to us, in high summer, but it would to others). There is quite a lot of wasted space with the L-shaped room layout, which was used to store a fold-out bed and spare quilt (I am sure in time this will become a hanging or storage area). A comfy chair would have been appreciated, as there is only a stool or bed to sit on. It is unusual (if paying for a full English breakfast) not to also be offered fruit juice and fruit, possibly also cereal/pastries (again, this didn't matter to us, but it would to others, especially walkers). Separate tea and hot water just will not do I'm afraid, please make it in the pot :-)
