Summary: Grateful to have been able to make last-minute reservations at this ocean view hotel in the Outer Banks July 4th weekend. Nice spacious well accommodated rooms-quiet, clean, safe. People sitting on the outside upper decks enjoying the breeze. Many historic aspects- from the photos on the walls to the upper library. Friendly morning staff, though late evening check-in was fully automated. No morning coffee or breakfast on-site because they don’t have a cook; but the hotel provided generous coupons for free breakfast nearby.

Summary: Good bones, but needs a refresh.. The staff here are incredibly welcoming and the location is absolutely perfect for getting around. However, the hotel itself is really starting to show its age. The room felt outdated, and could definitely use some renovations. Great potential, it just needs a little TLC!

Summary: We had a great stay at First Colony. Our room was big and comfortable with very nice furnishings. The only drawback was that the shower was quite small. The staff as very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

Summary: We spent 3 nights here. Charming, spacious room with many windows on 3 sides. Towel warmer was appreciated in bathroom. Walk around porch deck with comfortable rocking chairs to enjoy the sunsets. Nice full breakfast included in a plesant dining room. Very nice grounds to enjoy as well as a good path to beach. Would definitely return here.

Summary: We love this quiet bed and breakfast. We spent our honeymoon 29 years ago there and came for our anniversary. We love it so much we brought dinner to the room instead of eating out. The bed was comfortable and the view was breath taking!
