Summary: The Good: The inside of this house is lovely. It is well decorated and the owners have made small touches like candy, bottles of water, and well-placed signage that is nearly made and not thrown together. The Bad: We had a huge problem - despite the listing as “sleeps 6” this is not at all true. There are enough beds for four. Five if you count the couch (not a sleeper sofa, regular couch). My youngest had to sleep on a rug with only sheets. The owner’s response was that the listing says six to convey that more people are allowed to stay than there are beds. This seems unacceptable if not deceptive to me. He did kindly refund half our booking fee, but as far as I know still has not changed the listing. The Ugly: The yard was grossly overgrown and we were woken up twice by the loud train horn whose tracks are within walking distance from the house. The living room has a wall A/C unit, but no other rooms have air conditioning.

Summary: I am the one who decided to stay here and I think my family was a little concerned when they realized it was on the main road. However, once we got inside it was so cozy and quiet. We had a great stay! Comfortable beds!

Summary: The house was comfortable, once we got it warmed up. Host was helpful with allowing us to edit our stay and come a day early. However, the plates in the cupboard were dirty and spoons were still wrapped in tape, like they were just bought from a second hand store. We stay at houses so we can cook. There is NO DISHWASHER. So we had to hand wash everything before and after using it. I’d be ok with washing after, but starting with dirty dishes and being expected to leave clean ones is unreasonable. Also be aware that the back yard is not available for kids to go outside away from the busy road, it is full of dog poop and broken glass. Bring towels if everyone wants to shower- max guests is 6 but there are not 6 towels or washcloths. I think this will be a nice place once these things are addressed.

Summary: The house was an updated older house and reminded me of my grandmother's house. It was clean and surprisingly quiet despite its location. Overall, it was a comfortable place to stop and rest on our way through to Colorado.

Summary: At first arrival we thought maybe staying on main street wasn't the best idea but once entering and closing the door you would never guess it was so quiet. Having snacks and drinks was a wonderful touch! I'm one who loves to utilize the kitchen and the stove temp was perfect. Had our meal ready in minutes. The beds were really comfortable as well 😌 Overall, it was a great stay and convenient being on main street.
