Positive: All good for work no frills

Negative: I went down to have breakfast before 9am. The waitress arrived 5 minutes later and told me breakfast was finished. Staff rude and not acceptable We were offered breakfast 15 minutes later which was too late. The evening staff are ok the breakfast staff are terrible

Summary: Shame about breakfast left a bad experience

Positive: Breakfast was excellent the evening meals well priced and very traditional. Room was clean and tidy the bathroom was a little too small accessed via a narrow hall and wardrobe. All in all very good value for money.

Negative: Small bathroom.

Summary: Nice place ideally suited to visiting the local sites and railway.

Positive: Efficient check-in. Good breakfast and pleasant team. Quiet location away from any built up area.

Negative: Overall, the pub area is very dated and perhaps needs a refresh whilst keeping the current theme. We had room No. 9 - designated as accessible to all but looking at the layout, facilities, positioning,etc., the room needs to be re-visited. There were several aspects which would present a challenge to those with disabilities so I don't recommended a single occupancy if you have mobility issues. The room was adjacent to the restaurant so was quite noisy through to closing time - additionally, someone kept jamming the access door between the bar and residential area open exacerbating the problem. Also it is on the ground floor with other rooms above - lots of overhead noise to deal with as guests arrive and depart. Whilst we don't wish to disrespect the owners we won't be staying in the future.

Summary: Unexpectedly disappointing.

Positive: Lovely clean rooms, dinner was excellent and breakfast was very good.

Negative: As its an old building, we had a room upstairs and our floorboards creeked at lot when walking on them, making a lot of noise.

Positive: The amazing staff, food and cleanliness, with the added bonus of being in a quite relaxing setting.

Negative: For my husband the bed was fine, for me it was too hard. Nothing wrong with it, just personal preference.

Summary: You can't get it perfect for everyone, but it was very close for me, spot on for hubby.

Negative: Too much pressure in Hot water tap in the bathroom, seriously needs adjusting.
