Summary: Great stay in a historic hotel. Breakfast at the mineral 1886 was outstanding before a great hike around the mineral belt trail Enjoyed Pizza on Thursday night at high mountain pies where they had a great open area with a band. Kids playing. Friends talking, great beers and outstanding pizza We will be back

Summary: Everything was as advertised. The rooms and hallways are very historic. They told us they don't have an elevator so if you're not up for it rent second level rather than third. We were told parking might be a problem, but it wasn't for us. They have a parking lot which you can see from your room. The restaurant had great food for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. We would recommend this stay for those interested in the local history of Leadville.

Summary: As expected, the hotel was old but well maintained, the bathrooms were clean, but tiny. The one feature that prevented me from giving it 5 stars was the absence of an elevator. The stairs were a killer for an eighty-year-old.

Summary: This is a great historic hotel, just keep that in mind during your stay. Much of the rooms doorframes and other hardware is kept as genuine as possible, sometimes to minor detriment. A prime example is that the main door to our room had a gap in it through which two people could easily see each other. It's not great, but that's how the original doorway was put in. We absolutely loved our stay and the staff were amazing! All of the foibles added to the charm of staying at such a historic location for us.
