Positive: The cottage at Ashbrook was probably the best self catering place that we have stayed in, in the UK. Bill and Carol have paid attention to every detail and our 5 night stay was wonderful. As hosts they gave us a warm welcome and checked out whether there was anything else we needed whilst we were there. The accommodation was spotless, the welcome pack was excellent, as was also the location for us. We would have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to anyone looking for a restful countryside place to stay. It will be the first place we will look to for further visits to Northern Ireland. Positive: Everything was brilliant from start to finish! A beautiful cottage in the countryside just outside Belfast. The cottage is immaculate inside and out. The hosts have thought of every little detail that helps to make your stay comfortable from the utilities to the extremely comfortable bed. We flew in late, they waited to meet us and had even provided milk and breakfast items so we had something for the morning. The hosts were incredibly helpful with local knowledge about how best to access the city etc and nothing was too much trouble. We were there to run the marathon and they allowed us to go back and get showered before going to the airport which was very generous of them. So many personal touches that made it a wonderful couple of days. We will definitely be returning!

Negative: Nothing! Just wish we had been staying longer.

Positive: The property is ideally situated as a base to explore the city of Belfast. The Ards peninsula and Strangford Loch are easily accessible and the closeness to the motorway network makes it ideal to explore, south, west and north. Hosts Carol and Bill were very friendly and helped us source a picture similar to the one hanging in the cottage. This shows a montage of Belfast landmarks and made a great 47th wedding anniversary present for my wife who grew up in the city. The bottle of bubbly was much appreciated as well.

Negative: Nothing to dislike

Summary: Relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable, we will definitely be back.

Positive: We are well travelled aprtment and house renters. This was perfect. Beautiful rural view. Attentive hosts. Modern and wonderfully furnished house. Quality towels, bedding. Well provisioned on arrival for snacks, tea etc. Spotlessly clean. Warm and plenty of hot water. Lovely surrounding gardens. Privicy. Short drive to Belfast (car essential) and other tourist areas. We cant say thank you enough for our stay. Wonderful.
