Positive: The breakfast was good, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was kind. Our first room didn’t have hot water, but they changed it right away. I had also forgotten my wallet in the room, and the cleaning lady handed it to the reception, who promptly returned it to me.

Negative: Since we didn’t specifically request it, the room was not cleaned and the towels were not replaced.

Positive: The internet was out for the neighborhood. They did not tell us this at check-in . There were no phones or TV. I used my cell phone to call the property only to get a recording, stating my call could not be completed as dialed. It wasn't until the next day via email that we learned of the outage. A simple heads up at check-in would have saved us from all the frustration. The rooms are dusty. But all that said, it is very charming, piano player in the lobby at evening check in, games, puzzles, art and literature abound.

Positive: The staff are SO friendly. Also the breakfast is delicious (particularly the scrambled eggs) and the bar is inviting.

Negative: The room was clean, but not deep-clean (fair amount of dust buildup in crevices, like between the bed frame and the mattress). The walls are thin, so we were kept up by noisy neighbors til midnight!

Summary: Would definitely return here on my next trip to St. Louis! Good value, wonderful staff.
