This fantastic 1200 SF Apartment is part of the “Historic Collier-Casey Estate”, circa 1874, and is situated on the premier vacation rental site in downtown Saint Marys!
This 'Captains Quarters' Apartment is one of two rentals on the 'Collier-Casey Estate' property with its own private entrance and upstairs deck that overlooks an Eastern view of the Marsh, Saint Marys River, Intra-Coastal Waterway, Pass to the Atlantic Ocean and distant Cumberland and Fernandina/Amelia Islands.
The “Captains Quarters”, with it’s upstairs deck offers “the best views” on the property, and is a spacious 1200 SF apartment with 14 ft. Vaulted Ceiling Great Room, with living, kitchen, and breakfast areas; over-sized queen bedroom with walk-in closet; and large bath with Jacuzzi garden tub, walk-in shower, two large double vanities, and private water closet.
It is a perfect location for a couple and offers plenty of room for a week or longer stay!
The tropical setting of the fully landscaped 2+ acre property, with its palm trees, moss-draped oaks, and southern pecan trees, is situated directly on the Marsh to the East, with un-obscured views of Cumberland Island, 'the pass' to the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean, and Fernandina Beach, FL.; and un-obscured River views to the south (front) of the property! No other rental property in Saint Marys offers these beautiful water views.
This property is a 5 minute or less walk to the town center (only one “small town block” to the Saint Marys River waterfront and village shops and restaurants)! Summary: The accommodations were outstanding. The back deck was perfect for watching morning sunrises as well as enjoying the wonderful cool breezes coming in over the St Mary’s River and saltwater marsh. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Summary: The host was most accommodating and informative as well as very friendly. This was a prefect location to catch the ferry to Cumberland Island or to go for a stroll in charming downtown St. Mary’s. Centrally located to points of interest like Fort Clinch and Amelia Island. Sunrise with coffee overlooking the beautiful marsh was everything we could ask for.

Summary: My husband & I cannot say enough about the City of St. Marys and our wonderful stay at the Captains Quarters! Don welcomed us with his friendly, kind demeanor. He gave us a tour of the apartment and offered us lots of very interesting information. He also brought us into his incredible home which is the main house. The Captains Quarters was immaculate and decorated beautifully! It offered everything we needed and more. The marsh view with its incredible sunrises was the perfect beginning to each day. The landscaping on the property is so beautiful. There is such a variety/abundance of birds that fly over the marsh. I saw my favorite birds, the roseate spoonbills, daily. We brought our kayaks & bikes and loved exploring the river and City of St. Marys. Our day trip by ferry to Cumberland Island was fascinating! Our late afternoon walks to the town center was so peaceful and enjoyable. Thank you Don for your kind hospitality. We appreciate everything and look forward to returning next year! Denise & Larry
