Positive: A lovely quiet location, notwithstanding the addition of seagulls, but lovely to be so close to the sea. The staff were excellent at communicating, and checking we had no access issues. It was great to have access to the dining room to eat our takeaway, from the recommended takeaway.

Positive: This place was exceptional in everything the staff was friendly,welcoming. They had snacks, breakfast area, relaxing, and gaming area. One of the most important to me was that there was staff that if we had any questions or need of something we could ask for assistance. Loved it. I recommend it. True to their description.

Positive: The Cairns is in a great location, (particularly for art lovers) facing Leven Beach which Jack Vettriano used for some of his sea side works and just along from the spot 'Long Time Gone' was painted (the power station is no longer there but the railings remain). It is also in the town centre, minutes from the bus and railway stations and the East Fife FC football ground. Rooms were comfortable and having access to the kitchen area at all times proved a benefit for my take away fish and chips.

Negative: This is a completely automated hotel, (code entry to premises and rooms). There are no staff and that takes a little bit of getting used to.

Summary: Very comfortable hotel in a great location and with easy access to public transport

Negative: The only disadvantage was lack of private parking and having to park in the public car park which was busy during the evening however seemed safe enough
