Summary: Hotel is well located and breakfast was lovely, room was a little dated and general wear and tear in most places could do with a refurb. However staff were very friendly and room was safe, comfortable and clean. Plenty of free parking

Summary: We booked this hotel with having a wedding at the VU in Bathgate. I was a bit worried with reviews but so glad I went. Having confused the life out of hotel staff with my initial booking, my fault entirely, all was sorted so professionally. I had some extra requirements for my husband and in-laws, with medical and mobility issues, they were effuciently dealt with and arrangements put in place, plus we were given a run down of what the hotel had done to meet the extra requirments for each room. On arrival, reception were amazing, very professional and gave us ALL the information and run down of what was in place for each room, breakfast times, bar and restaurant times, night porter, etc. The hotel was beautiful. Very clean,organised and well presented. Our room was immaculate with good quality white towels, essential toiletries, shower ovef the bayh, well stocked tea trays. We had a very comforyable king size bed with comfy pillows , duvet and crisp white bedding, I slept well. The room was well maintained. Only one wee criticism was the radiator being off although I could switch it on myself anyway, it doesn't take long to heat up. Breakfas in tbe morning was 7 til 10am and buffet style. No dried up bacon or soggy slop,it was TOP NOTCH! A full range of cereals, tasty sausages, good quality bacon, scrambled egg, you get the picture,toast, jams and marmalades, fresh orage and apple juice, tea and coffee. Its a star of a place and I will definitely be returning.

Summary: A good breakfast with plenty of choice, clean and well presented room. Shower lacking water pressure, ease of check in and all in a well presented hotel... Bar well stocked, but the lounge area could do we some settee's/comfortable chairs. very friendly, polite and professional staff throughout

Summary: Friendly staff & good meals at restaurant (reasonably priced with big portion sizes). Daily servicing of room with biscuits and hot chocolate as a nice touch. However, be prepared for that “dingy/musky smell” when you enter…they should definitely open windows or bathroom door more often for better airflow. Overall decent hotel, dated decor but still pleasant.
