Summary: The property matched online pictures. The small lake was perfect for kayaking and it was so nice that there were no motorized boats but electric small motors. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Just what we hoped for when we booked it. The layout and decor was charming and we lived the large porch! We would plan to book this property again if staying in the area. We booked only one tour in the few days we were there and that was Jack Daniels distillery 30 minutes away in Lynchburg. Great tour and cute town to visit.

Summary: The lake side chalet is so charming! The house was very clean, well decorated, and great amenities! There was even a snack basket upon our arrival! We absolutely loved the serene and peaceful setting of the patio deck overlooking the lake. Great Blue Herons, egrets, and geese were so fun to watch. We enjoyed paddling around the lake in the kayaks provided too. I would definitely recommend The Blue Heron!

Summary: We were beyond impressed by this property. Very clean, well decorated, nice personal touches with snacks, coffee, games, binoculars for bird watching, kayaks, etc. We never left (except in the kayaks)! Gloria was easy to communicate with and left plenty of helpful information about the area. We look forward to coming back again!

Summary: Needing to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life to celebrate our anniversary, we stumbled upon this absolute gem! The house is immaculately kept and the decor could not be more perfect for the lakefront location. If you think that you may have forgotten something, I can almost guarantee that you will find it in the house. The screened-in porch is EVERYTHING! From morning coffee to afternoon naps and evening conversation, this was by far, our favorite location in the house. The dock provided ample space for fishing (which was very good) and relaxation. For birdwatchers, we saw hawks, blue heron, bald eagles, egrets, and a number of other birds all within the first hour of stepping foot on the dock on the first morning. Everyone in the neighborhood waved and we never felt like strangers. We had the absolute pleasure of meeting Gloria during our stay. She is wonderful to work with and her communication is top notch! This has definitely been marked as a favorite and we wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

Summary: The lake was beautiful,the house was spotless and just as shown in the pictures. The host was very accommodating and the snack assortment that was there for us was the perfect touch. We look forward to going back and I will recommend the Blue Heron to everyone I know.

Summary: Such a great cottage! Excellent communication with host who even left water and snacks. Kayaks were available but it was far too windy. The porch is a phenomenal place to relax with a book and there was a selection to choose from! Flyers were available for local restaurants and activities.
