Positive: We loved the peaceful, beautiful atmosphere and felt welcomed by the owners Craig and Dawn who were so kind and a pleasure to be around. My daughters were especially enamoured with the lovely dogs! Our stay was so restful and we only wish we could have stayed for longer.

Positive: The property is an old well maintained county house with beautiful wood paneling that looks out on a small lake. Very peaceful.

Negative: Several of the internal doors need some minor adjustment to the closing mechanism but this was not a major issue.

Positive: Te Rangi Lodge is a truly special hideaway in a breathtaking setting. We enjoyed a fantastic two-night stay with my father and son while exploring the Wairarapa for fly fishing. Craig and Dawn were very attentive and thoughtful hosts, ensuring we were well looked after throughout our stay. Craig is also an incredible chef - I highly recommend letting him cook for you if you get the chance. A charming and memorable weekend away. Thank you!

Dawn and Craig’s authentic, down-to-earth nature ensured the little ones felt comfortable and truly looked after, making the stay relaxed and enjoyable. The culinary creations were restaurant-quality, crafted with passion, served with heartfelt care and enjoyed in a cozy dining atmosphere. Breakfast on our last day was fantastic, setting a wonderful tone for the day ahead. The accommodation is inviting, well maintained, perfect for unwinding and tastefully adorned with carefully curated pieces from the hosts’ travels and life stories - giving a unique and personal touch. Their furbabies brought a charming homely vibe, while the serene natural surroundings made every moment outside refreshing. All the details were spot on, and the hosts thoughtfully went above and beyond to make us feel special. We left rested, well looked after and absolutely eager to return.

Positive: Amazing host and hostess a little out of town but so nice to wake up to the birdsong after sleeping like a log in a very comfortable bed. Suited us for our needs and would like to go back sometime for more than a one night stay.
